Hi there.
We have a laptop with a PPT presentation on it. The laptop has only a VGA output and the projector has only an HDMI input. One of the PPT slides has an mp4 on it.

First, I've been told that even if we found a projector with a VGA input, that wouldn't help because the mp4 audio wouldn't pass through anyway. True or false?

Second, are there VGA-HDMI converters that actually work, and what about that audio?

Thanks!

True, VGA doesn't do audio. Does your laptop have bluetooth?

This looks like what you need. 3.5mm audio built in too, just plug into the laptop’s headphone port.
(You could also use a male-to-male 3.5mm aux cable to run the audio directly from your laptop’s headphone port to a loud speaker or the presentation room’s built in audio system, etc).

In case that link didn’t work:

The laptop does not have bluetooth.
I will check out the adapters. I'm just gunshy on things like that because so often adapters/converters are kludgy.
