Way to go Harrison. In a few years, we'll make sure that Old Fart brings Harrison to as SoSH Bash sd I assume Ortiz's final game might be a tad too soon.

Great news.

Awesome indeed! By the way it's not been expressed here nearly enough how fortunate Harrison is to have such a loving and caring Godfather. Thanks for requesting/including all of us in your efforts to help Harrison. This group effort is truly the highlight of my Christmas season this year. God bless you OFT, be strong Travis and Rory, be well Harrison and thanks for continuing to be amazing SOSH.

Alright! I'm back. I have FINALLY gotten a list of donors so I can start to plan the fulfillment process, which is awesome. I may have to do a bunch of cross-referencing with private messages, this thread, and elsewhere to make sure I'm getting everyone their beer, so I would suggest this; if you haven't gotten your beer by mid-February, ping me so I can make sure you get it.

Thanks again everyone. Harrison is doing great, and this place was really a huge part of making that happen!

Holy s***. I just added it up; there are 100 donations referencing SOSH; it's literally a third of the donations. I'm amazed. And that doesn't include any SOSHers who might have not put SOSH in the comment field. Unbelievable.

Long overdue update is that I have coordinated with the nice people at Russian River and the Jug Shop here in SF and beer will begin shipping this week!

Also, I sent some PMs to a bunch of people to verify correct names. Some people said they didn't want beer, so I want to make sure I remove the right people from the list, while still getting beer to the right people on that list. Make sense?

And man, this really went about 100x better than I ever could have expected. You guys are the greatest! For the record, I currently have five cases of Pliny, one of Blind Pig, one of Damnation, and one of Sonoma Pride. (One case of the Pliny is a little older, but I'll make sure that no one gets two bottles of older Pliny). The jug shop is going to start shipping tomorrow!

Right now I just need some clarifying information from

@Yazdog8
@Unbearable Lightness

I sent you all direct messages. (Sorry if I've double-pinged some of you - trying to compare one list to another and communicate through email and SOSH Messenger while trying to do a full time job is frazzling me a bit.)

Afternoon everyone, this is Harrison's dad, let me start by saying THANK YOU. This has been appreciated more than you will ever know. I can't even begin to say how moved we've been by everyone's generosity, you guys are amazing.

So Harrison is doing great, he has grown 2.5 inches and has put on 3 lbs. since the transplant, no more nightly shots of HGH to keep him growing. Immediately after the transplant he had some pretty major complications as the kidney was deemed a "lazy kidney" and did not start working right away. Because of this his body stored the fluid and collapsed one of his lungs. Scared the holy poop out of me and couldn't tell Mom because I didn't want to stress her out while she was recovering. Well he got through that and the kidney started working, albeit slowly but it was working. We were released from the hospital after 11 days and what an adventure.

It took about 2 months for the kidney to start working to it's full capacity but it is now and he's cruising along. We are done to 6 meds a day from the 12 when he came home. He's had a few bumps in the road along the way; got his first fever about 1 month ago and was hospitalized for 3 days but now you would have no clue he was anything but a perfectly healthy 3 yr old boy. He also was in and out of quarantine for 3 months because his white blood cell count was too low and had no immune system to fight anything off but it's back up and cranking now. Now the hardest part is getting him to drink 2 liters of water a day (I don't think I drink anywhere near that).

For those with questions about the tickets, we had some friends donate prizes for those who donated and we will be drawing ticket stubs for winners. There are a variety of prizes from passes to the Nike employee store to a 1 week stay at a luxury condo in St. Kits.

Once again thank you so much, we don't even know what to say. H starts school tomorrow and we are so excited. We also are still trying to work out getting a luxury box at a game at Fenway and at a West Coast stadium to host as many of you as possible to say thank you in person.

This is a time I wish we had a like button. I don't have much to say except that is great to hear and I'm glad my small donation could help.

Welcome, Mallrat. You couldn't have a better Godfather/advocate/friend than the Ol' Fart Tree. So happy for Harrison!

The winner of the random drawing for the beer has been identified and emailed. I will post the username if the person tells me (and is ok with me saying who won)!

So, I got this in the mail today, thanks for getting it out OFT.

I will be drinking a Pliny tonight for Harrison. Hopefully in 18 years (or sooner, if his teenage years are more interesting than mine), he can appreciate little things like drinking a good beer as much as so many of us get to. I am glad I got to be an extremely small part of this, and wish him, and his awesome parents, the best of luck going forward.

Edited to spoiler because huge picture.... oops.

UPS just delivered beer to my door. I wasn't expecting it. I didn't mention beer in the thread, and I didn't list SoSH on the donation.

Thank you OFT, you are too generous.

I have a godson in San Francisco who is grown now. I owe his parents a visit. They live on Pacific Ave, and when I saw the return address on the box, I immediately thought of them.

All toasts will be to Harrison's health.

edit - damn! one of those Pliny's was bottled 9 days ago.

Also, it's probably a BIT overblown in the labeling, but I would definitely recommend drinking right away. The Russian River guys (and God bless them for all their help!) say it doesn't age well. Those of you who got one of the slightly older Plinys were supposed to get some other Russian River/Sonoma Pride beers as recompense to make up for it, as well as a fresher one. Assuming the Jug Shop followed my spreadsheet correctly.
