I have been very remiss in my messageboarding of late and therefore just saw this. Donation made. Go Woodchucks! (don't worry about the Pliny.)

Donated. No PLINY needed.

I would also suggest leaving the thread up on the main board for awhile longer, given the revisions to SOSH this month it may take folks a little longer to find this thread and get themselves to the link on the first post. Close to the $45,000 mark, another $5,000 to go. Confident SOSH will get Harrison over the top.

Harrison has his surgery tomorrow--let's try to get his donations up to 50K by then!

And don't forget to check to see if your company will match your donation!

Harrison's surgery was slated for yesterday. Sending positive thoughts and plenty of prayers as we wait for an update.
There is actually a blog post from his Mom on the site that makes it sound like yesterday was blood draws that are required the day prior to the transplant surgery, so the operation is actually probably today - can't wait for some good news updates from OFT.

Site says we are now north of $49K total raised by 260+ donors, so almost there!

Surgery was yesterday; so far good news, mom and son seem to be recovering. More info as I have it!
AWESOME. That news just totally makes my day.

Let's close this sucker out today, since that will be welcome news to family as they recover in the hospital - just 10 or so more donations to go....

Great news Evan! Happened to revisit the donations page and was very impressed by the number of folks from here who donated. You have a lot of explaining to do regarding who the heck we are and why we like beer so much.

Mother is up and about and Harrison is recovering nicely. Parents are over the moon about all the support. Thanks everyone. This place is a weird wonderful thing.

Sounds like Harrison was on the high side on some metrics but all is well, Mom was able to visit him this morning, and things are going great. Thanks to everyone! I'll write more later, just been buried at work.

It was great to check his donation page and see his status change from "awaiting transplant" To "Transplanted"

From his folks: So they got the air back in his lung and now just needs the strength back in his lung and he didn't need a breathing tube. He's working and fighting. He's now constantly in the 90's for his oxygen stats. The better news is the kidney is working hard and the Dr's are happy with how it's working. Hopefully we can get some sleep tonight.

FYI - transplant related costs now updated to $125,000 on the fundraising website, so currently less than 50% towards that goal (but over $51K now)....

I guess that makes sense - its about 40% of $300K (with 60% covered by insurance), so I guess $50K was just the initial goal.

Long time lurker, first time poster. Can't think of a better reason to lose my posting virginity. Donation made (not looking for the beer but applaud your taste). Keep on fighting Harrison!

Hey, welcome Dan!

Sorry I've been silent as I've been out of town. Harrison had a bit of a rougher go of it than I originally knew, with some complications that I now understand to have included a collapsed lung (!) but he is back home and my latest info is that the boyo is recovering well and eating pizza. His mom said it hurt to laugh a few days ago but she looks great in the photos I've seen despite the pain.

I'll get a fuller update when I get more details but for now things appear to be looking up. If I sound like a Broken record, my bad, but again, this place has made an absolutely amazing contribution and it warms the cockles of my usually bitter, misanthropic, cynical heart. Hugs and handpounds for everyone!

Our boy is doing well. He got his stent out today, which is a great step, and is finally able to leave the hospital, so he's back home and eating normally. Great news!
