Not blaming anyone who took offense to it, that wasn't the intent, but I'm better than that and don't blame people for becoming upset.  My intent was to disparage Warren Sapp, a bully, and not anyone else involved in this incident.

Let's just be happy they were following Sapp around.  Who knows what Gronk got into last night.

I don't think Gronk paid for anything he got into last night.

Wouldn't have been a solicitation charge. Prostitutes pay for the privilege to be with Gronk!

I look forward to the 3 month Ted Wells investigation into this...

Let's just hope he doesn't have to pay to get rid of anything he got last night, either.

Had to be a streetwalker, no? Geez, they still exist? No way that was a sting at 7am the morning after the SB.

Unless, he was assaulting the woman and she or someone called the cops.

The idea of Sapp trolling around Van Buren Street makes me giggle.

Somebody must have it in for him. I mean, who cares.

Most solicitation charges are stings.  They have to be because it's not illegal to talk to a hooker or give one a ride in your car or meet one at your hotel room after you meet in the bar.  Cops have to document the sex for money intent.  Preferably with audio/video recording, otherwise it's always something of a he said/she said.

So, prostitution stings come in two basic varieties.  1) a police officer comes to your place after you solicit a fake agency or massage therapist, or whatever.  You propose sex for cash to a cop, or they confirm an earlier phone/on-line proposal.  2)  a police officer dresses as a streetwalker.  You propose sex for cash to a cop.

There are plenty of innocent people who get nabbed for these things.

As you say, it seems unlikely this was a 7am sting.  I'm curious what the details will be.

Isn't the whole point of being rich and famous so that you can have your people do the wrangling for you?

Is it ok to speculate that cocaine must also be involved? I'd hate to drag a guy's reputation through the mud based on pure speculation and lack of evidence...

Update (3:52 p.m.): A sergeant from the Phoenix Police Department sent a summary of the events. Sapp allegedly assaulted two women working as prostitutes in a hotel room after an argument about money, according to officers at the hotel:

On February 2, 2015 at 2:30 a.m. Phoenix Police officers working security at a Downtown Phoenix hotel were investigating a noise disturbance when they were contacted by a female alleging she had been assaulted. The incident was alleged to have occurred in a guest room, after meeting in the lobby while she and another female were there as escorts. During a meeting in the room, an argument ensued, allegedly over money and the altercation turned physical, spilling out into the hallway.

During the investigation detectives were able to establish that an act of prostitution occurred in the room by at least one of the females. Sapp was detained and transported to Phoenix Police Headquarters. While there he was questioned and admitted involvement in the act of prostitution, but denied assaulting the females. Minor injuries consistent with a struggle, were observed by investigators on both females.

Sapp was transported to the Maricopa County Jail and booked on charges of Soliciting Prostitution and two counts of assault, both misdemeanor offenses.

One female was cited for one count of Prostitution and released, the second female left the scene prior to detectives arrival but was later located at a Peoria hotel. She was interviewed, and cited for a violation of the City's escort permit requirements and released.

Sapp has apparently been a dick to anyone other than the big shows at the media row. While some are always gracious (ala Michael Irvin) even when saying no, Sapp were (allegedly) not even close to it.

In other words, the after glow is strong this off-season.

Why would you speculate a drug that causes erectile dysfunction in a case involving a guy trying to get laid?

Most interesting, I think, is that Phoenix has "escort permit requirements".

...

"blow" follows "hookers" like Polo follows Marco in a community swimming pool.

The specter of an assault, even if he isn't charged, moves this out of the victimless crime category. He's through as an analyst.

Fauria talked all week about how he wanted to fight him over an altercation or two they had during media day. He was apparently just a complete ass to everyone.
