Pretty incredible: Pats are most injured team and still lead conference:

Interestingly, Miami is the least injured team and they still suck big time.
One thing I just noticed is that tiny circle right next to Denver... is that the Bengals?

edit: I'm an idiot, of course it is because they're the only other team with 11 wins. They've probably been the luckiest team of all because hardly any of their key players have been injured, until Dalton of course.

Are we hoping for a Sunday, January 17th game to give the walking wounded one more day to heal?

I am expecting the Saturday primetime game on CBS since CBS has gone to that well every time they could with the Pats (01, 03, 05, 07, 11, and 13).

Horrible field conditions in Miami. I'm sure that won't cost us any players today.
Slippery horrible? Trying to take a glass half full stance, maybe guys cleats won't catch so much in slop and injuries might be prevented. Also, if you can't get going as fast, less 1/2mv² upon collisions. I give up.

The Brady ankle injury is something to keep an eye on. He admitted to being "pretty sore" in the post game press conference and didn't look to be moving well when he left the podium.

During the last minute or so of the game, the camera did a quick pan of Brady, Gronk and the Patriots sideline. I caught a quick glimpse of Amendola sitting on the bench and holding his knee and grimacing. It may have been nothing, but it has me a bit concerned.

Edit: Amendola was interviewed in front of his locker, he said he "felt fine"; hopefully the camera just caught him with an odd expression.

Surprised this isn't getting more attention on this board. He was walking like Bill Walton there. Hopefully won't be an issue but he'll need to be as mobile as possible with this crap OL.

The hand on the board seems like something I would do if I was trying really really hard not to be obvious in my limp....

The OL should be a decent bit better in 2 weeks. Add in Edelman, Gronk, Amendola and Lafell all finally on the field again together and a decent looking running game and that will be a big help to Brady. The offense will look a lot different in 2 weeks.

If Brady's ankle was in anyway serious they would have had a boot on it and we'd likely have heard of it by now. They always seem to put the players in a walking boot quickly out of caution.

Absolutely but he'll be facing strong pressure regardless of who our opponent is. The ability to extend plays a second or two will be paramount. Going to be really interesting to see how this team responds.

A decent bit, is that like a smidge or a scoche? Probably more than those, right?

By the way, the Packers fit into the misery loves company category lately, although they do have a fresh TD here.

I think Brady had something like this on during the game. Maybe going without in the post-game, so possibly gimpiness a good sign?

Well we can't expect miracles, but they will have better health. Lets call it serviceable in 2 weeks. Edelman's return is huge to helping Brady stay upright as well.

Deion just said on NFLN that he's hearing Brady may have some cracked ribs or "something wrong with his hand."

Anybody else heard this?

Given that he's been flattened repeatedly behind this OL the past 6 or so weeks, I'd be surprised if he didn't have any injuries.

He's played through broken ribs before that we haven't found out about till after the season. Seems as likely as not he's got some busted ribs.

Re: the Brady ankle- if he turned the ankle and has a sprain (low ankle sprain?), he could be tight post-game once he cools down, and fine in two weeks. We'll see, but I also suspect if he had a high ankle sprain or more serious injury he'd be in a boot.

Thought that was a joke at first, but yea people were going around retweeting Schefter's tweet from January 3rd 2010 about Brady breaking his ribs and fracturing his ring finger. I'm sure it gave a bunch of people heart attacks.

Also the last time we spent two weeks talking about a bum Brady ankle....ugh. I'm hoping he doesn't need a boot but that they give him one as a precaution.

Was this tweet

How someone was able to find that tweet from 2010 RT it and fool everyone (including journalists) is a mystery to me

La Mancha.
Do we know much about Chandler Jones' injury and prognosis? All I could find with a bit of Googling was Reiss' statement "I’m told internally there is optimism that most, if not all, of the injured players are expected back for the playoffs."

Hope that turns out to be accurate.

Here
Sprain for Brady, no breaks. It could still impact him, depending on severity, but good news nonetheless.

No breaks AND no fractures is amazing. I wonder if there were no tears or rips? Perhaps there were no dislocations or...unlocations, too.

He's making it up. Brady looks fine outside the ankle. The offensive problems are not because he can't throw the ball like he normally does.

What were Brady's numbers after the Suh hit? He was under pressure frequently, so hard to attribute properly, but he seemed to be all over the place with his throws after that point.

Didn't look like a high-ankle sprain mechanism - he should be ok in two weeks. Wouldn't be shocked by some time in a boot just to cool it off, though

If I recall correctly, the Suh hit came on the first real downfield pass attempt (not counting the shovel pass or the screen to Jackson) - so his numbers for the day and his numbers post-hit are essentially the same thing. I agree that he seemed to be a little wild, but it's obviously hard to isolate any impact the ankle may have had from among the other variables at play - especially the lack of pass protection and open receivers.

Can someone provide me with any historical comps to get the pit out of my stomach?

Kidding...kind of. This is the kind of injury where the severity and length differ wildly on a case by case basis, right?

He had a high ankle sprain in the 2001 AFCCG, which as we all know forced him out of the game. He obviously played in the Super Bowl, which I believe was only on 1 week of rest.

Considering Vollmer was carted off the field immediately, McCourty missed a game, and Brady didn't miss a snap, I'd say they certainly vary

The good news is that none of our potential Divisional Round opponents have very imposing defensive lines so we should be ok.
