Standing on his head.Hennesy has no interest in global narrative, it seems.
England manager Gareth Southgate is concerned about the eight-day turnaround between the pause in the domestic season and the first round of games in Qatar, with the Three Lions due to play Iran in Doha on the opening day, Nov. 21.
The Premier League's final fixtures before the tournament take place on Nov. 12-13 and ESPN can reveal that the FA have asked that no games between Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham occur on that weekend.

"What would help is if we don't get a derby or those sorts of 'big six' games," he said at the time.
It's worth Southgate's time to ask, but given how international all these clubs are; would England really be at that big of a disadvantage? The Portugal manager should be lobbying the FA to give Wolves a cupcake opponent too.Apparently Southgate and the FA have asked the EPL not to schedule games between the “Big Six” clubs for the match week before the World Cup break:

I guess they’re worried that, say, a Man City v. Liverpool match is more likely to cause injury or fatigue for Foden/Grealish/Sterling/etc. than Man City v. West Ham? Seems a bit tenuous.
What I recall is someone made a thread asking recommendations for purchasing a firearm, Syd posted something sarcastic about it, Kenny F'N Powers trolled him, and that was the last we heard from him. I'm sure there is more to the story. What happened to him? V&N?
For years I thought that thread was about gray hound racing and finally took a gander after the race track out at Revere had closed and due to the ban on dog racing. It was a WTF moment for me.Miss him in the running dogs thread. Good dude, seems pretty fast too.
this is the kind of crap that makes non-Sky Six fans just puke.Apparently Southgate and the FA have asked the EPL not to schedule games between the “Big Six” clubs for the match week before the World Cup break:

I'll miss Peru for their kits. Love the sash.Australia - Peru heading to penalties on FS1.
The Aussies subbed in their backup goalie for PKs with about 2 minutes to go in ET.
Backup keeper wins it doing a marionette impression. Awesome.
Too bad syd no longer posts here.
V&N was where his burnout became obvious, but V&N isn’t what caused Syd to leave. What happened to him? V&N?
That exchange was near the end of his posting time, but, IMO, it was a symptom rather than a cause. What I recall is someone made a thread asking recommendations for purchasing a firearm, Syd posted something sarcastic about it, Kenny F'N Powers trolled him, and that was the last we heard from him. The Peruvian Sash. I hated it when I was a kid, and I was probably in my 30's when I finally let it go. Scotland in Argentina for WC 1978. I was just a child but I had an excuse.... grown men and grand fathers were taken in by Ally MacLeod and his mindless ethusiasm and relentless optimism.I'll miss Peru for their kits. Love the sash.
They’ve scored one goal in four UEFA Nations League matches this summer, and that goal was a pen, so zero goals from open play in four matches. Is this a Southgate issue? The talent on that team should be more competitive.England getting crushed at home by Hungary, 3-0 and John Stones just got sent off.
I haven't watched any of the games; my guess is they haven't played well, and they are also rotating a bunch of people around and not playing their best XI every game. Also you have to imagine a lot of their players are exhausted and are not necessarily up for this FIFA/UEFA cash grab. They’ve scored one goal in four UEFA Nations League matches this summer, and that goal was a pen, so zero goals from open play in four matches. They were a little unlucky the first four matchdays, but the quality came out in the end. They righted they ship in the middle part of qualifying and after they drew is Azteca and the U.S.A. lost to Canada pretty convincingly, I think I asked on these boards: Why the hell is everyone talking about Panama? One hell of a run by Costa Rica to make the WC. Took 19 out of a possible 21 points to close out qualifying and now won the play-in game.
6 points from the first 7 games and 19 points from the last 7.
Hollywood sports movie type of run.
It's hard to believe that we can keep saying this... but that might be the worst red I've ever seen (worst, as in worst call, ie not a red, not even a yellow, not even a foul).England getting crushed at home by Hungary, 3-0 and John Stones just got sent off.
