Goddammit after watching this first half why oh why did I put 6/16 confidence points on the Bears in this game?! I feel like it's an NCAA Tourney Thursday afternoon when one of my Elite Eight teams is losing in the very first game.
I'm already bored with the NFL. Looks like it's back to mostly watching just Pats games until the playoffs for me.
If Patterson is really their second outside receiver the Bears offense is going to struggle. Allen Robinson can't do it by himself. Mike Davis has as many touches as Montgomery. Nagy is calling a shit game.
No Chris, its not the Packers defense making the Bears offense look bad. The Bears offense is bad, all by itself. They scored a lot of points last year, but they were 21st in the NFL in total yards. The reason they scored a lot of points is because their defense, which was the #1 scoring defense in football last year, forced 36 turnovers (2nd best team was at 30) and gave them a ton of short fields. They had 27 interceptions last season, including 5 pick 6's, and a fumble recovery for a touchdown. Their offense was trash, and it still is....
Watching other NFL teams makes it so glaringly obvious why the Pats keep winning. The stupid decisions, stupid plays, terrible coaching, mismanagement of the clock, and a million other reasons are just mind-numbing. Week in, week out. The only thing that continues to surprise me is why so many of the pundits who get paid to give their opinions don't seem to notice it, and whoever wins this game, will be the next lock to win the Super Bowl, at least until this Sunday, when they anoint some other team besides the Patriots.
Thank God for college football.
I still can't wrap my head around the Pats hanging their SIXTH Super Bowl banner. Since for most of my life I didn't believe they'd ever have one.
NFL must be kicking itself for breaking with tradition to do Packers-Bears opening night instead of the Super Bowl champs. Because while this game is competitive, it’s painfully dull to watch.
You and me both, and I've been to all 5 of the banner's being unveiled, and will be there again on Sunday. It's literally inconceivable given what this organization was pre-Kraft.
