Raiders/Broncos at 10:20pm is pretty awesome. That could get a rating below 10 on the east coast.

Anyway, I'm ready for some football. The first NFL Sunday is always a great day.

Am interested to see ratings in Boston for 1st Quarter Raiders v. inning 9 of Yankees Red Sox

Texans-Saints is one of those oddball matchups that don't happen very often, but could be fun to watch

You’ll watch.
0% chance I watch a game with a 10:20pm start. I will see no more than 0 minutes of that game, as I am usually in bed much earlier than that. I, however, might stay up Sunday night. Depends on my work schedule for Monday. I am not a fan of late games, they really much up my work mornings.

I am envious of your discipline.

I’ll watch.

The Red Sox - Yankees game Sunday is going to have like a $15 price point for bleacher tickets, even with all the NY students back at BU.

Other games.
CBS
  • Tennessee @ Cleveland
  • Kansas City @ Jacksonville
  • Buffalo @ NY Jets
  • Baltimore @ Miami
  • Indianapolis @ LA Chargers
  • Cincinnati @ Seattle
  • Washington @ Philadelphia
  • Atlanta @ Minnesota
  • LA Rams @ Carolina
  • NY Giants @ Dallas
  • San Francisco @ Tampa Bay
  • Detroit @ Arizona

There aren't a whole lot of games that look to be competive and interesting (i.e. games with two playoff teams)
  1. Pats/Pitt -- Homerism at its finest, but SB Champs against a long-time conference rival
  2. KC/Jax -- 2018 Conf finalist v 2017 Conf finalist
  3. Wash/Phil -- Division rivals, incl 2017 SB champs
Otherwise, a lot of games that look like mismatches or two crappy teams. Bills/Jets? SF/TB? DET/ARI? Yikes.

Which is too bad given how close they are to each other geographically. I’m expecting a great game. Would be great if refs would let Texans get away with a blatant DPI early in the game.

Max Payne is doing Longhorn Steakhouse commercials? Good for him.

Holy shit I think I hate the NFL. I don't know why I've turned on it so quickly and maybe I'll change over the course of the year. But I find myself just sneering. Not even sure why.

Pretty sure that's one of the first times I've seen a defensive holding on a running play. Except the 95 times the Pats have been called for it in the past 5 years.

Were these offenses allowed to practice this offseason or was there some new rule outlawing that

Quite the innovative offense for the Packers - not blocking anyone is a daring plan.

I thought CHI -3 was a misprint, but they came to play.
The Bears won 6 more games than Green Bay last year, still have a great defense, and are playing at home. If anything, that line is being pulled down closer than it should simply because the Packers have Aaron Rodgers.

If the Bears D is playing Skrine, it means they are not actually good and the Packers just suck.

Prisco might be the only human on Earth that thinks the Packers are the best team in the NFL. They are literally average at every aspect of the game. Rodgers is obviously great, but he has a terrible running game, a below average line, and a middling group of receives besides Adams. They have 8-8 written all over them. And that's only if Rodgers stays healthy.
