I think the video they kept showing of Hopkins on TV cuts away just before the step that looks maybe out, they cut away at the same place over and over.

Which is why the whistle shouldn't have blown. There are refs in NY who are.

And there are other camera angles that emphasize the gap you refuse to recognize more clearly. But by all means, zoom in to your pixelated screen shot of choice some more.
Okay dude.

You can show 1000 pics with the gap. There's been one posted with no gap. That's all that's required.

By all means continue to argue, but if you're going to look at the pics and say he's hovering or there's a gap, I'm not sure anyone can talk you out of it.

Derek Carr looks like a thinner more symmetrical less garbage human being Ben Roethlisberger.

Yes. McDonough keeps complaining about the step at the 41 yard line. Not the one at the 36.

That shot cellardoor posted certainly gives me some pause, but I still don't think his heel ever touched. Regardless, best practice should be to not blow the whistle on non-reversible calls. It's not like I'm a HOU fan over here. Fuck Texas. That said, based on all the angles I saw, I thought he stayed in.

None of that bullshit matters relative to the whistle. He wasn't going down he sideline untouched without the whistles.
And FTR, Houston got the first down twice on the second to last drive. Not that they were going to keep the Raiders offense out of the end zone in the fourth quarter.

This is stupid because if they lean one way but don't blow the whistle since it can't be reversed they run the risk of "no conclusive evidence" to support a reversal.

The ref the blew the whistle was very close to play. I'd defer to the guy with a clear line of sight on the play.

HOU got jobbed on the 3rd and 4th down spots later in the game but the sideline call was the right call.

Agree to disagree. I would prefer the default to be in favor of big plays. If there's no conclusive evidence to overturn, then the big play is the right call.

The sideline call was fine. Not sure why it's so heavily debated here(well, by berg anyway). The spot in the 4th quarter was terrible, but so was a pass interference call on Oakland that led to a 3rd quarter td for Houston.

NFL officiating is beyond bad, but tonight's game isn't in the top 20 of poorly officiated games this year.
