How do the Bills make this mistake? Do they not understand Buffalo weather?
You have the foresight to move the game to Detroit because of this type of storm two days ago, see the storm warning goes until midday Sunday, yet decide it best to try flying out the day before the game.

Sounds like the played meteorological Russian roulette, but filled every chamber. Id love it if they had to forfeit, but that'll never happen. Best I can hope for is that they have to play Monday night and then again on Thursday.

I mean, how do they not leave early?

I am shocked at the lack of planning by the football team from Buffalo. So dumb.

The only thing I can think of is that because they are playing in Detroit on Thursday, it took them more time to get ready to be there for 6 days.

I guess it could be the logistical side of things. I know from working the back office at a hotel, it's hard enough for us to host an NFL team for one single night (booking the rooms, sure, but the sheer amount food those guys goes through is mind-boggling to see first-hand). Trying to accommodate a team for nearly a week would be soul-crushing. The short notice of this scenario would probably make it impossible for our operation.

Supposedly the charter is on time to depart at 3:30 and a runway is cleared, but getting the players to the airport is the challenge now. Using snowmobiles may be in the offing. The Bills fans on Twitter keep saying they could not get charter a plane or get a pilot right when announcing the change in venue. There is a lot of gear and maybe they couldn't immediately get all the buses needed to haul everything to setup Detroit like a home game, but why not just get the players to Detroit immediately on Thursday amongst one or two buses and worry about all the gear afterward which only needs to come from one location to the airport.

Anyone know the financial side of guesting at someone else’s stadium? Do the Lions get a share of the gate and concessions?

My guess is it's probably the same as a typical touring musical artist, the Bills "rent" the stadium with the stadium concessions personnel etc built in to the price. Then the Bills keep the gate revenue. The Lions may have built in a discounted price/rented the stadium "at cost" because I've read how the tickets will be discounted to draw locals in addition to Bills and Browns fans who are willing to travel on short notice.

Edit: Now that I see the Bills were the least expensive average ticket for 2021, at least it shouldn't be as much to match their home gate. But they obviously lose out on other things like merch sales and the neighbors don't get parking revenue, but full disclosure I haven't been since 2003 so am not sure if the parking situation is the same.

I wonder if the league picks up the "rent payment."

Cleveland has 1st and goal. They run a wildcat with Chubb. And he loses 5 yards because it's a clear running play.

Then the Browns had two TDs but Bryant dropped one and then the other TE (not Njoku) dropped another.

10-3 Browns.

3rd and 1 and 4th and 2 on the Bills 26 for the Browns.

They run Jacoby Brissett twice. It failed.

Note, the Browns have Nick Chubb.

Newton
McDaniels’ defense picking up where it left off, giving the corpse of Russell Wilson and Broncos their first opening drive TD this season.

A truly awful play by Sutton. It wasn't even part of the play. And instead of a first, and a lot of yards, it's 3rd and 12.

And then Russell Wilson gets the cheap roughing the passer sliding call.

I don't think there is a thing the defense can do on that one when you're chasing a guy and he slides.

Denver on 3rd and 1 at the goal line. And they run Melvin Gordon, who famously fumbles at the goal line.

He fumbles, of course, but Denver recovered.

Kind of a brilliant challenge by the Vikings. Wait until the last second ice the kicker with a challenge flag.

or is it the refs only because inside 2 mins? Or is that just at end of the game?

Damn kickers are so good these days. Just nutted two 60 yard kicks
