Gardner-Johnson is a huge loss, but in addition to Jordan Davis they should get their slot CB Avonta Maddox back in two weeks too.

Regardless the Eagles D can be very good at times but they're too sloppy on tackling and their DC calls a terrible game. I do think their D may be the end of them eventually, but they are very good at bending but not breaking, taking the ball away and creating a few big negative plays per week. But they have not been great for the past three games...

Whoever changed my avatar did a nice job. Now change it back, some classics cannot be messed with and I have no idea where that link is.

Back to the topic, I think Special Teams hurt us worse than the Defense last night. Our defense did not look good, but they were routinely defending short fields. Also, I love Gardner-Johnson, but Blankenship hits like Andre Watters.

Collinsworth infected with whatever psychosis makes the crowd think that GB got an advantage by having a defender go to the ground. They’re charged a timeout anyways, idiots.
They aren't until the final two minutes. GB had been doing it all game, which was bullshit. No psychosis.

But it was under two minutes at the time.

I should’ve been more generous to the fans in my comment. Anyone who has been to a game knows it’s a lot harder to keep the intricacies of the rules straight and most of the fans in attendance at any given game are unlikely to remember that rule. But Collinsworth should know that; he was even nonplussed when Tirico pointed it out.

BTW - as much as it’s well-earned desserts, I am having trouble reading Yammer’s posts without Ron smiling at me.

I am not certain that Jalen Hurts has a long, elite career ahead of him, but how can you say that right now, this season, he is playing "Just OK"?

I'm not saying that he isn't putting up great stats. You have to do these evaluations from the POV that the team matters.

For sure. They do have the most wins in the league, but they did also lose one game, so there’s room for Hurts to get better.

You also thought Zach Wilson was playing well despite repeated evidence to the contrary. Seems like you have a deficiency when it comes to analyzing quarterbacks.

Hurts has been awesome this year. One cannot argue otherwise if you look at the numbers, the record, or the eye test. He's been nails.

Both Tua and Hurts are putting up monster stats. Let’s assume we have some expansion team, call them the New England Patriots, that is going to be allowed to draft a QB from other teams. Where are Tua and Hurts on your mock?

Everyone associated with the Eagles special teams units not named Jake Elliott needs to be fired into the sun.

I get it man, if Tua and Hurts can leave Bama and become top 5-10 QBs in the National Football League after 2-3 years, well we got the next one up!

I apologize, I remember when I said this about Hurts, I’ve been wrong for a long time:

Gardner is better than Hurts, he showed it in the one game he played this season and it also looked like the team loved him, too.

I feel badly for Hurts. He's awful and this is embarrassing. But he shouldn't be playing over Gardner.

Oh, I’m not sure it was me that said this. Have to think about it more.

Pretty damn high. Probably behind Burrow, Herbert, Allen, and Mahomes.

There aren't that many great QBs in the NFL, if you haven't noticed. Would you rather have Kyler Murray? No. Plus with Murray you get the drama. How about Cousins? No. Rodgers? Lol. Lamar the choker? Hardly. Derek Carr or Geno Smith? Yeah, no.

The only guy who could get above them in the next few years is Trevor Lawrence. Hurts and Tua are playing almost flawlessly year to date.

I am really unsure how you could spend the first 10 weeks of the season talking about how Zach Wilson has it and then look at Tua and Hurts and be like, "Not really that good, system QBs."

I haven’t noticed Robert Quinn much during Eagles games. Is he playing?
Yes, but no real contribution so far. I think he had a QB hurry last week but that's about it.

On Hurts - there's a ton to like about him. I'm really impressed by his leadership skills and (from what I can tell) his work ethic. He's going to get a monster contract this offseason and you never know how those will work out but he seems like exactly the kind of guy you're comfortable backing up the Brinks truck for.

Also, yesterday was his 30th start in the NFL. Trevor Lawrence has 28. He's still growing into the job...

I think Hurts' best game as a passer was Week 2 against the Vikings. He looked completely in control the entire game.

I felt like last night was his best game as a dual threat. Having a healthy and effective Miles Sanders certainly helps because the loss of Dallas Goedert in the red zone will be huge.

I still don't understand why Sirianni uses his RB the way he does. He uses 5'7 Kenneth Gainwell and 5'6 Boston Scott in short yardage situations all the time.

Right????

I don't disagree with you on Collingsworth, but I think the fans were legitimately sick of the nonsense and when you watch it today it looks even worse, IMO. Jaire Alexander is a really good football player but he made an ass of himself, as did a number of his teammates.

I don’t get that either. Miles Sanders is pretty good in that area and always gets pulled off the field.

Gainwell is really good at short yardage situations and they drafted him partly to be the guy who could get 3rd and 1, 3rd and 2. He uses his (lack of) height pretty well to hide behind his blockers until he comes through the gap. Whatever the opposite of Earl Campbell is, it's him.

Boston Scott - who I generally love - makes no sense in that role. I almost wonder if they give Sanders less short yardage play to keep him healthier, but that would be weird in big situations.

I need 8 fantasy points out of Michael Pittman tonight to win $240.
That first series did not fill me with confidence.

Given that it’s the 2nd quarter and Matty Ice has completed more passes to the Steelers than the Colts, I share your concern..

Horrible spot on that 2nd down QB run. Headfirst slide and not touched. Spot was off by 3 yards. Didn't matter, but still.
