I've generally refrained from shitting on the coaching staff this season, but I do agree that Covington has no business being a DC in the NFL at this point in his career.
You all seem to know more about what constitutes good coaching than me (I have watched football for multiple decades, I read, I listen to podcasts) so I can't opine about the coaching. But we also watch enough sports together to know that even the best coaches couldn't do much with this roster.
I mean, I would pretty much be fine with them turning over the entire defensive unit. There is not a special player in that group except for, maybe, Gonzo.

I agree the roster is shit up and down on both sides of the ball, but the actual play calls on defense this year have been atrocious, players have regressed, and opposing OCs seem to routinely pants the defense with the plays they call.

The roster is very similar to last year, when their two best players were also hurt all season. That was a competitive unit. This one is a joke.
