Rodgers is baked. As a Packer fan I hope they move on after the seaosn.
His dead cap hit in a pre June 1 trade is….99M, ie, negative 66M cap hit. In the extremely unlikely event they could manage a post-June 1 trade, it’s a break even cap wise.

It just won’t work because they’ll need to make moves in the key FA period while operating with his cap hit….only to trade him for almost no savings?

That extension tied them to him through next year.

He certainly hasn’t looked good, but they’ve also had a ton of drops tonight.
That last one was totally on him. Too low. He rushed it. The one that he always used to make, which should have been a TD to Jones was left short. He's lost it. And to make matters worse he looks to me in his movements that he's petrified of getting hurt.

That quick snap on the first third down of that drive was huge. They punt there and this game maybe is over. Pretty good drive there.

What a dumb play, hands to the face on the outside right in front of the ref. They couldn't ignore that, and it papers over Rodgers flinging it like safeties don't exist.

Aaron Rodgers is being patient. As if he didn’t just throw an awful pick a penalty negated.

I don't think they call it without the final push on the helmet
Yup that was the icing, if it stayed steady without any change in position maybe it can slide. The head judge was certainly animated in discussion like "are you sure?" which is good, make the official explain the rationale with such a big play at stake.

It’s crazy how much better the top 5 QBs are than the rest. I guess most sports are like that.

I hate Rodgers. I'm not going to be rational.
No, I get it. See the graph above where they get exponentially more advantageous officiating than even the supposed "darling" Patriots. They do seem to get all the breaks, then choke at the end (49ers one season and Giants during the 18-1 season.)

Edit: I meant Bucs instead of 49ers since that was the other home NFC championship team, but I suppose you could call the Niners a choke since they let the inferior Garoppolo beat them while attempting a whole 8 passes.

Yep, and teams can wait decades to find that top 5 QB.

That's why I love the way San Fran has approached building their team. They built the defense and offense, and then went and got their QB (Lance). Lance obviously got hurt, but he was the first QB they've taken in their first 104 picks since Kaepernick in 2011.

They took CJ Beathard in the 3rd round in 2017, then Lance in 2021 and then threw a dart at Purdy with the last pick in 2022. Their only QB selections in 11 years besides those guys were Jeff Driskel in the 6th round in 2016 and CJ Daniels in the 7th round in 2013.

That's the model teams that aren't bad enough to have a top 3 pick need to have, IMO.

Another missed penalty on the hit to the head. Then a dirt bag move from the Packers player. Wow.

My god. These refs are doing everything in their power to get GB into the postseason

Good on the Lions powering through even after being eliminated. Through the bluster, Campbell has the players believing and it feels like this franchise is going in the right direction.
