One minute is way too much time. This is the right call imo. Great decision.

That was the right call. Don't give the ball back to Mahomes, and I like that they went just right at it and didn't even try the hardcount, just smashed it.

lol that dance took 2 super bowls from denver
in 2000 the AFC was very weak had we copyied the jets off in week 17 in 2000 we beat them
and in 2012 the kneel by john fox manning couild had got in FG range to beat them and sit up ne/den in 12

Denver got killed in that wild card game. Couldn’t believe it after I saw the Jets blow the game they should have won against the Ravens in week 17

The thing is if they tried a bit harder to gain yardage on the first 2 downs they wouldn't had that do or die play.

Needed KC to burn 2 TO's. I thought they played it very well.

I get it's hard to beat the Chiefs, but Ravens celebrating like they just won the SB. Somebody want to dump some Gatorade on Harbaugh?

This feels a little like sour grapes. That was a really gutsy call and they executed it really well.

Honestly the playcalling was pretty good if you knew you were willing to go for any 4th and short, two safe plays to burn the timeouts, then if you don't have it under 6, you throw. If they gained a bit more or 1st or 2nd they probably run on 3rd and 4th.

Sour grapes? I didn't give a hoot who won this game, it just seemed like a weird way to go about it. Acting like you just want to kill the clock on the first 2 downs and then have to crank it up to get the first on 4th down. But sure, it weas good to see a close exciting game with chances taken. No question about that.

The stupid toss-up by Mahomes for the INT gets nowhere near its proper level of examination during the broadcast.

Watching the recaps of the games this morning, that call against LAC that cost them (the Cook reception) a TD was just a horrific call. Illegal shift, for a team that had only one guy moving.

Just a brutal call. SEC refs find their way to Dallas.

It was an obvious correct call....remember the rule isn't that there have to be two guys moving at the snap, just were there ever two people moving at the same time before all 11 become set (or re-set).

Thoughts on the non-call of a safety with Russell Wilson running into his own end zone?

Contact starts in the field of play...even though Wilson's own momentum is taking him backwards that's where forward progress would be established. It's quick whistle on forward progress, but if you call it it has to be in the field of play. If you don't call it then the pass is legally grounded.

Honestly a safety here to end the game would be a really brutal ruling. Probably career limiting.

Pitt fans aren't too happy with the paperless ticketing. Sounds like a cluster*uck there. I guess Carnegie Mellon doesn't osmote.

Peter King, on a moment from the little-watched Texans-Browns game:

I think there is no logical reason to choose to punt instead of accepting a penalty. That surfaced in Houston-Cleveland.

The situation: Houston ball at its 38, third-and-15. Tyrod Taylor passes to Brandin Cooks for 13 years, leaving fourth-and-two. But there’s a flag for offside. Houston can accept it and advance to the 43, leading to third-and-10.

Coach David Culley declined the penalty and chose to punt, saying later it was because he wanted to try to pin the Browns deep in their own territory. That is just not plausible.

On third-and-10, Houston could have run a play and possibly earned a first down. Even if the Texans came up short, the punt would be from near midfield. Anyway, it’s just the wrong logic by Culley.

Yeah, that makes zero sense to me. Just looked it up and the punt ended up as a touchback anyway. Coach had to be confused about the situation.

Maybe he thought about going for it and then thought better of it?

He either completely messed up or he's such an idiot that he shouldn't be an NFL coach.

Declining the penalty and then punting should be a fireable offense. Something like that cannot happen. There is no excuse. You're basically saying to your team, "We have no chance to win this game."

Maybe he watched Tom Brady punt on 3rd down and thought he'd go one step further.

side note, I'll never really understand that call. Just kneel on 3rd down and punt it deep on 4th and you get effectively the same result and kill a lot more clock.
