Moving the Line
Good pull. Any way to amend that to include games that are within 1 score? Down 3 scores with <1 minute might as well just be a kneel down.
Agree and thanks. I’m going to filter out what look like aborted snaps because a few of these exist where it looks like punters had no chance to get the ball off otherwise. Easy enough to change it to 0-8 points.

Looks like this is it: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/201311210atl.htm

Bree’s on 4th and 19, down 4 late in the fourth. But that may have not been by design either.

For a RB, most I found was 4th and 16, up 3 here: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/200211240den.htm with 9 seconds left in the fourth.

For not running out the clock, RB? Also 4th and 16, sometime in the first in this game: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/199710050jax.htm

Ken Anderson the OC.

Thoughts Rams were going to be hit with a neutral zone infraction there.

these routes are awful. Feels like they're all running to the same spots.

Collinsworth.. 'had everything they wanted there'... does that include passing to the only receiver who was double covered?

1st and goal from the 5, with 45 seconds left, and 2 timeouts, and you throw it 4 times when you haven't been able to keep the defense off your QB all night.

Brilliant Freddie, just brilliant....

even at the end zone the Browns manage to run the longest routes possible.

Sucks for the Browns fans. This is a good team. They could have won this with better execution and coaching. Hope they learn. Would be great for the league if they became contenders.

If Mayfield wasn't such an idiot, I'd feel bad for him having to live with this coaching staff, but...

Will say this again: why was Kitchens not stomping up and down about that play being DPI? The defender didn’t turn and instead put his tanks up and right into the Browns’ receiver’s arms.

They had all 3
That's right. I forgot they got one back with the roughing penalty.

Just insanely bad coaching and play calling. All night.

I've been all over the Browns for these long routes for 3 weeks now. Like I said early in the game, it seems like Baker's holding the ball for an hour waiting to see if OBJ can get open (or because he doesn't have a receiver running a route less than 25 yards downfield) and even when he has an open receiver 5-10 yards downfield, he won't throw it. I feel like he's trying to keep OBJ happy, but it's only a matter of time before that turns into a shitshow.

Remember the delay of game penalty on Tampa Bay before the missed FG?

***

Then, Tampa Bay took a delay of game penalty, but not because it wasn't ready to snap the ball or because it didn't have any timeouts -- the Bucs had one. Arians said he took the five-yard penalty intentionally.
"I just took it on purpose," Arians told reporters after the game. "Yeah, that field goal's easier back five yards. No sense hurrying. We wanted to move the ball over, put it in the middle and make it easier for him."
Gay said having the ball farther back didn't help or hurt his chances of making the kick.
"If it does, then that's not right. I have to make it from wherever on the field. I've got to make them short, from long. So it doesn't matter at this point, you know. It just got to go through. Doesn't matter if it's 50 (yards) or 20."

hilarious. wasn't Arians pretty good on the Colts? now he's ass

I still think he is good. Some of these good coaches fuck up game management which makes them good not great.

He won a lot of games with the colts, resurrected the corpse of Carson Palmer to a good season, and could easily be 2-1 or 3-0 or 0-3 right now. All of Tampa’s games have been tight, the SF game got lopsided at the end but it was close for most of the game.

Bears color is dark navy blue; Cubs use the bright royal blue ESPN has adopted for tonight fo some unknown reason. Maybe Booger was in on the decision.

The Bears' classical "C" on a navy blue background just does not provide enough visual splash, I suppose. In the same way, the Browns continually challenge TV producers - with even less to work with.

Though that was a pretty sweet move the defender put on the o lineman to get a free run. Not really Keenum’s fault.
