Not many interesting games this week other than Dallas/Saints which loses a bit without Brees. Ravens and Browns maybe.

Yay Thursday football!

It’s the time of the week where I cycle through emotions where I begin, “Oh, it’s Thursday. Cool-there’s football on,” and end up with, “Yay. Thursday football.”

Maybe it’ll be a good game. Anything’s possible.

all games should be streamed in 4k - there is no excuse (even if this is fake 4k, at least it has HDR)

No helmet to helmet flags on punt returns? Holy hell.
I think it’s because he lowered his head to avoid the helmet to helmet as he was supposed to, but the PR ducked into it.

No one thinks Barnett did that on purpose but if you want hits like that out of the game, you need to eject and suspend players.
Agreed. On a situation like that, the NFL should set up a process to have a play like that reviewed and the player suspended by half-time of that very game, IMO. Don't leave the decision of the refs on the field -- they are obviously proving to be unable to make an ejection call in the heat of a moment. But a semi-immediate suspension would make a big impression on players, I believe.

Holy shit that’s brutal
Buck: "...and when we come back [from the timeout for the injured player to get carted off the field], we'll have another helmet-to-helmet play to show you!"

He was talking about the punt return, but man he sounded excited about that. Uh, Joe, I could do without that. I don't watch football for the traumatic brain injuries.

They said on the broadcast that it was reviewed by New York. Which makes it worse/more baffling.

Favre really never got any comeuppance from that whole sexual harassment thing, huh?

Eagles get the Jets next week, but after that go @ Vikings @ Dallas @ Buffalo vs Bears bye vs Pats vs Seattle. That’s quite a stretch. 1-3 after tonight. What’s the best they do in that stretch? Good news is their last 5 is really easy.

Since it was a TD but for the call it ought to be an automatic review. I know it’s not the rule but should be.

Meanwhile I guess we are back to flag Thursday.
