I guess the silver lining is that this is probably the better result for the Patriots

How do you not run on two plays with a yard to go?
Out of timeouts because he had to burn them all on defense because he stupidly went for two.

Also forgot to cover Travis Kelce.

Also handed KC three points at the half on a face mask penalty.

Also handed KC seven points on a dumbass penalty on a missed fg.

I don’t understand how your 4th and 1 call has only 1 underneath option and that was a slow developing crossing route. More Madden bs.

Finally a close up replay of the defensive holding on the FG and it honestly looked like a nothingburger to me

Still not convinced of the incomplete call.

If you watch the play, the ball does not bobble or move at all after this point while in his left hand here. Yes he secures it with the right as the hit is coming but it does not appear the ball was actually loose at any point aside from not being in both hands. I think it is gripped in the left. They are filling in a gap with incomplete information to overturn a call.

That is exactly how I saw it. Basically a one-handed catch. The NFL is an absolute clown show.

He wasn't a passer. Thus the entire passage you quoted is completely irrelevant.

He was a ball carrier who had just fumbled.
He was in a passing posture which makes him defenseless. The rule gives examples of what a defenseless posture is, but it isn't all inclusive. By NFL rules I think that's a foul, but like you guys I don't like it.

The foul against Brady was an abomination even by NFL standards of RPS protection.

Here
Jacobs had 7.1 YPC on 21 carries. Probably a well you want to try at least once with a yard to go…

Or at least use play action.

Someone is going to need to explain to me how Josh McDaniels got 3 head coaching gigs. This guy is lucky Nate Hackett is in the NFL. 1-4 ??? Gruden would have a better record than this.

edit: btw, this has nothing to do with him going for 2

Does anyone know if the analytics check out on the 2-point try from the Raiders? Everytime a coach goes for it on 4th down or a 20point conversion the announces yell "analytics!" but don't actually show the data.

Generally speaking, it seems all it really did was make OT unlikely. I guess make/miss the 2 pointer he's gotta hold KC to a FG or less then would have the ball for the last drive? Was that the play?

Seriously??? Guy is trying to do his job. Give me a break with this crap.
Listening this morning to a guy who worked the sidelines in a similar capacity. Rule of thumb is not to impede the path of a player or coach, stay to the side until they pass. Anecdotal, for sure, but if he was just doing his job, he was doing it poorly.

Yeah, and I can't find the video now but I am pretty certain I saw another angle of this where the cameraman sped over with his gear to get right into Adams' path into the tunnel. It still doesn't warrant the guy being pushed but it does add a little more context to Adams' reaction.

So he deserves to get shoved? Even Adams says frustration got the better of him.

No, he doesn't deserve the shove. I didn't say he did. I was just pointing out that, according to what I heard on the topic, he was doing something that such personnel usually are not supposed to do.

You are probably right. I was just commenting on the post that say he deserved it.

I don’t think going for two v one, assuming typical conversion odds, is clearly the right decision by the numbers if you are down one with about four minutes left.

I get throwing against zero blitz. Jacobs probably gets stuffed. But the play call and throw. Brutal.
That pass was way overthrown even if Adams doesn’t break stride
What was wrong with the throw? It landed at the 22 yard line on the left hash, 2-3 seconds after the collision which occurred at the 42ish yard line, where Adams already had a step on his man. If Renfrow runs the route correctly it's a long gain.

If the Adams catch is reviewed properly this isn't even a thought.

Ok, so the other angle here:

I hate to be like "That dude was asking for it" and all but ... that cameraman was asking for trouble.

Also, my perspective on this has nothing to do with Adams being on my fantasy team. None at all.
