Even taking out the Hail Mary, the texans put up 400 yards of offense against Indy, and that's with Brady's backups. How bad is the Indy D?

That squawks team would smash this Indy team.

I'll be coming into a sizeable bonus check next Thursday and headed to Vegas for work Sunday.  I'm not sure there is a spread that is going to prevent me from betting very heavy on NE.

For those more football educated than myself... Has JJ Watt fallen off, off the juice or is just being triple teamed and the Texans D is just so bad no one is stepping up?

Just now saw the replay where Mallet got hit.
He has a responsibility to not be a jerk on the sideline, sure. But he got hit really hard... I think him bailing before the extra point might have been 'I gotta get checked out and taped up fast', and not 'I'm a petulant child'.
Wouldn't be surprised if he has a cracked rib or two.

Yep, and the 35 year old Hasselbeck's match up with the 40 year old Hasselbeck would be fascinating.

A gimpy, no lateral quickness Arian Foster had 9 catches for 77 yards tonight. I sense a 4 td, 200 receiving yards game from Lewis next week.

Hasselbeck was just tearing up over a week 5 win over Houston.
A lot of dudes cry when they are totally drained. It's weird. Happens to wrestlers a lot. I don't think it was the weak/week 5 win @ BOB's band of buffoons

He was terrible tonight.  This season will likely end the absurd spending spree on D lineman.  It happened a few seasons ago to RB's and I think Dline are the next shoe to drop.  Not a single Dline big $$ contract is going to come close to working out this season.

It is becoming more and more evident that this is a QB, WR/Gronk and CB league.  Everything else is filler.

edit: forgot Gronk

It's really fucked that LB and RB are filler positions these days

I love that they think this was some special win.

It's like they just won the AAA championship and are satisfied.  When was th  e last time a Patriots team celebrated a week 5 win like this? You would think at some point other teams would learn.

I'm not really getting it either. I mean, yeah, they were 0-2 and are now over .500 without their QB, but did anyone expect anything other than 3 wins against these AFCS stiffs?

I give you a serious answer, a lebowski reference and some topical humor and you hit me back with doo-wop?

I'll take it.

This reminds me of some academia humor. You write an article, it gets rejected. You send it somewhere else; editor tells you it needs major revisions. you do two rounds of this. The article shows up in print. In the next issue a comment appears stating that your work is seriously flawed and then provides a litany of critiques. You look up at the sky, pump you fist and scream "YES, YES, SOMEBODY READ MY ARTICLE!"

What's wrong with some Frankie? Sadly, I've never seen the big lebowski.
1. Nothing is ever wrong with some Frankie.

2. Stop doing whatever you are doing, and watch the Big Lebowski right now.

Jesus fuck how is Houston this bad? My Dad was set on taking the Colts in his pick em league, had the Colts all the way through Thursday afternoon, I told him about Hasselbeck's illness and he asked me what chance do you give the Colts tonight, I said I dunno, < 33%, he switched the pick... he texted me 7 mins before kickoff saying I am sick to my stomach for changing the pick.. and he was dead right.

It's a road win against their most potent divisional rival (which speaks volumes about the weakness of their division). The Colts have weathered an injury to their franchise QB and are 3-2, and 3-0 in the division (including 2 road wins). Assuming Luck isn't going to be hampered all season, it's downhill sledding to the division title. That outlook would be very different if the Colts were instead tied with Houston at 2-3, with a H2H loss to boot.

It's not the Super Bowl, but from the Colts' perspective, last night's win was about as big as it gets this early in the season.

He said he thought the half was over.

A few things that make me wonder how football smart Mallett is. He was with Brady for years, and apparently never learned how to QB sneak and never learned both how to throw the short pass and why, if you can throw it, you don't need to throw long.

Go f*ck yourself
Likewise for Hoyer. Looks like he didn't pick up from Brady that either fire it at you receivers feet, or sometimes you are better off taking the sack. I know Hoyer was pretty damn good aside from 1 play, but that was a pretty big brain fart. Anyway, If I'm BOB, Hoyer is my obvious starter now

Lynch out Sunday (link). Definitely helps the Bengals but it'll still be a big test to see how far their offense has come against a full strength Seattle defense.

Rumblings starting to come out of Seattle that Lynch's hamstring is worse than originally thought.  Right now Seattle has one healthy RB on the roster in Rawls as Jackson is questionable with a high ankle sprain.

Had they really lost faith in Michael to that extent? I understand the nebulous nature of injury but was he so little thought of that they've left themselves vulnerable?

They love Rawls more than Michael.  They only moved on from Michael when Jackson was released from BUF.  They were also high on Rod Smith (who is currently on the PS) which made moving on from Michael easier.  Michael had trouble reading blocks in the ZBS and additional reports are that he was a bit of a head case

Seahawks - Bengals is probably my primary focus on the 1 o'clock games. Any other favorites?

Rams - Packers is the other one I am interested in this morning
