Tomlin mis-manages his way out of a win. Could have taken a TO on the 3rd down play prior to the game-tying FG at end of regulation, had ~50 seconds and a TO to try and answer and win it. Instead, kneels with the final 10 seconds, goes to OT, loses on another Tucker FG.

FOX is now showing CHI shadows on the field of their on-screen graphics?

Is that like breaking the fifth wall or something?

what are the Steelers doing BTW? they've been close wire to wire with a bad backup QB, then later a terrible 3rd QB, yet Conner only has 10 carries, and 0 targets. If your offensive gameplan is to ignore your 2nd best player, and put the ball in the hands of your worst player, all in an attempt to get more touches for Diontae Johnson and James Washington, your entire coaching staff should be fired.
Steelers chose to kick off in OT...given that they are on their 3rd-string QB I guess that's a defensible decision?

Quite a day at the office there for Tomlin. Andy Reid wins that game. Hell, half the coaches in the league might win that game.

Late to the TV today. Just saw a replay of the hit on Rudolph. Any consensus on this one? Dirty or wrong place, wrong time? Twitter wants to burn Thomas to the ground for this one but was wondering what guys who know Thomas think. Does he have Vontaze rep or anything like that?

My problem with it is that the Steelers training staff didn't take him off on a cart.

Oddly, until they showed Rudolph down, it didn't look that bad. ET got him at a weird angle below his chin as Balt teammate hit him from behind. Seemed just like a really shitty position and head snap vs an actual malicious hit.

Yeah didn't strike me as dirty so much as violent. Rudolph completed the pass, but the hit wasn't egregiously late. He got his chin but was clearly aiming below the helmet.

Doc Bradley is legit and as good as they come. The cart literally died on the field and had to be pushed off.
Team limping him off looked terrible (and was) but the cart wasnt available. I quipped prior, why they don't have one of those plastic stretchers like Euro football makes no sense.

Or put him on the backboard if you need to.

Yeah, Thomas launches himself helmet first and catches Rudolph right on the chin.
I am pretty sure Thomas wasn’t trying to hurt him, but defenders should really stop leading with the helmet and go at the head area.
For example, the Bentley hit on Thompson also had a helmet-to-helmet component, but JB didn’t lead with his helmet, which may be why he wasn’t flagged.

Ya good point. Unload the backboard and use the strapping gents that walked him off to carry the backboard instead. They went so far as to unscrew his faceguard while he was out (airway access) so go all in taking care of the kid

Harbaugh on Earl Thomas hit: "I'm absolutely certain the he wasn't trying to hit him in the head. It's fast, he's closing & Mason's running. (Rudolph's) not going down, he's throwing the ball." Credited #Ravens for doing a "great job" of moving on to next play.

***

Credited his own team for moving onto the next play after the other team's player was seriously hurt

What a POS. I expect nothing less from that guy.

Maybe giving these touches to Gordon when he's been back for like 10 days isn't the best thing to do. Ekeler has been very productive and the LAC are taking him off the field to get Gordon "preseason" snaps.

"Hey, let's split Rivers out wide and have Tyrod Taylor hand it to Gordon!!"

Don't think he has a bad rep but I thought that was clearly a dirty hit

They still rolled the cart off the field. Couldn't they have put Rudolph on the cart before they rolled it off?
But when the zombie cart reanimates and suddenly develops a thirst for brains, nobody's coming out of that situation looking good. Better to play it safe.
