Another week without much going right. Two that looked particularly bad:

Joe Cardona - killed us in the first half but at least stabilized in the second half. It might be time to look for more consistency.
Trent Brown - Lots of matador blocking

Did anyone play well? I can’t think of anyone that was even ok. Our best plays were the 12 penalties on the Saints.

Does this team even practice? 72-3 last 2 weeks. I mean, what the hell? What does this team actually do all week?

Douglas made a nice catch before he was concussed.

Goats are the other 52 active players and the entire coaching staff.

To come out and look like this after last week is the most un-Belichick like thing I've seen so far. No bounce back. There's bad luck and there's always being in bad situations. This team is just all around bad currently and the injuries are piling up. Fully healthy maybe this iteration of the Patriots would have done something but that ship sailed. Just sad to see no life out there.

Less than 21 minutes in time of possession is a number you don't see often. 1/14 on third down. 0-2 on 4th. How did they even get to 51 plays?

Woof.

The Patriots have REACHED the redzone once in the past three weeks. I feel like nothing else needs to be said. This offense is putrid, it's a total failure in roster building, coaching, execution, game planning, just a horror show. Receivers, running backs, OL, QB every single unit is garbage. Every single one. Even Rhamondre has looked like dogshit. Defense was bad today, but whatever man, it's not the story with this team.

Once a team starts to go nowhere, I wonder how much the team just gives up and stops putting their bodies on the line (either consciously or unconsciously). Football is not like baseball where you can just go up there and take your hacks and collect your paycheck. Every time you step on the field you are risking a career ending injury.

Offense looks like bottom of the league unit. Needs to be completely rebuilt from the ground up starting this offseason. Douglas is literally the only player worth keeping.

Mac passes are so bad it sometimes looks like he can't even throw a proper interception. But he somehow finds a way.

I was at the game today - no-one showed any life or emotion. The team seems resigned to the fact that they are terrible and that bodes poorly for the remainder of the season. What the hell do I know, but it looked BAD.

Goats to everyone except Demario Douglas.

This is the major issue to me. The players now lack all belief that they can be competitive and win football games at this point. The entire team is broken.

It's time to blow everything up.

They've looked like that all year. They're never jacked up after big plays, don't jaw at anyone, don't rush to team mate's defense after big hits, don't look animated on the sidelines, just a bunch of guys collecting paychecks with zero belief in the process behind this. They have negative juice.

GOAT to Mac. Not only was his passing putrid, but it was supremely dangerous to his receivers. The hits on Douglas and Juju were direct results of terrible passes.

Trade BB to the Bears. Who says no? What could the Pats get in return?

It’s the same as the Sox.

Mac's early pick 6 set the tone yet again. The O-line is truly offensive. Special teams has been absolutely abhorrent, and that's something I still can't get used to seeing from the Patriots.

When i've brought it up in gamethreads people told me there'd be no way we would be in the Caleb Williams sweepstakes, but they were wrong. This is a really bad football team.

They should have been the leader of the pack for Williams had they not eeked out the win at the Jets.

I watched the USC-Arizona game last night, and thought Williams was fine. Not a #1 overall lock. What that just an outlier?

Everybody particularly the offense.

One thing I'll single out just for how dumb it was....

Kendrick Bourne had 2 false starts... TWO... getting 2 in a season is terrible for a WR.

It’s so sad because Kendrick also looks the most like a legitimate WR out there, Pop has a spark too of course, but KB just can’t get out of his own way. Can we not coach him up?

I doubt I’ll go back and watch but he seemed open for real yardage more than once.

Poor Mac, he looks done.

It was his shakiest game of the season but still was fine. Since the start of the 2022 season, he has 59 TDs and 5 INTs.

Yeah I’ve seen those stats, but I also know stats don’t mean much in terms of a guy going from college to the pros.

Interesting to know that was his shakiest game of his career. Thanks!

Yeah, always hard to evaluate USC QBs but he looks like the real deal. I think an even better prospect than Trevor Lawrence. His OL last night wasn’t great but he still pulled it out. Lots to like about him. Drake Maye looks pretty good as well. I’ll be interested in seeing SMU’s write ups when the time comes. Guys like Nix, Penix, and Sanders come with more risks, IMO.

I know next to nothing about college football or evaluating QBs, but I saw Penix play U of A last weekend and I know this much: lefty QBs are gross. Lefty swings look so nice, but lefty QBs look like they don’t know how to throw. This post adds nothing to the thread but it’s a fact

Hey, I’m a lefty…jerk! I loved Boomer growing up but even I agree it makes the delivery look…weirder.

I’m a biased Michigan fan, but I’m surprised jj mccarthy’s name doesn’t come up more. Very accurate, runs a pro offense and can evade the rush (he’s fast)

Literally everyone sucks

Mac Jones has made back breaking turnovers early for TD’s the other way in 3 out 5 games thus far.. He is broken and don’t think he is savagely st this point: Not even sure what they can do at this point and the players now it.

In the limited games I’ve seen him, he doesn’t seem to have the poise of a traditional NFL-quality pocket passer
He’s accurate when he’s not facing pressure, sure.
He’ll get his shot. I’m thinking 4th rounder.

keep in mind he’s a true junior. He’s a much better player than penix was at the same age (jj is 20. Penix 23)

A Michigan QB who is accurate, runs a pro offense, and is good at evading the rush?

Go on…
