Tonight's game will be a blowout. Al will be able to tell stories and Kirk Herbstreit will nicely put you to sleep.

You think so? Spread is 49ers - 3.5. TNF games are always odd.

I know Seattle lost a shocking game versus NYG in Seattle, but for the most part, Seattle puts up a good fight in every game. I don't think they will win, but it should be a close game.

I know SF has their problems and lost to AZ, but I think they have a good shot here. I think it will be a close game.

The defense has played like garbage the last 2 weeks. Mason should have at least 100 yards in the first half. Their 2nd best CB is out and their best one will probably be matched up with Juwan Jennings in the slot all night, so Deebo and Aiyuk should have a field day. There's no pass rush which means Purdy will have all day to throw. And the offense isn't good enough to compensate. And on top of all that, when the new regime came in, they got rid of their outstanding ST coach (Larry Izzo) for a nepo baby and the results have shown so far this season.

Yeah, looks like one of the best games of the week to me, too -- maybe the best (not the best, but post Saleh am intrigued by Buff vs NYJ, too). Both SF and SEA will be scratching to come back from last week.

The other game I'd love to see is Washington vs Baltimore. Real shame it's not a nationwide game. (At what point does Sunday Ticket start to drop their price?)

49ers never play great in Seattle, and tons of injuries (both teams). Shanahan did call up a 4th TE from the practice squad despite all three on the roster being healthy. That tells me we're going to see a lot of Mason in heavy sets.

Which is a good game plan against a horrible run defense. Mason will probably have a career game against this run D. Hell, if a 5th round rookie can get over 100 yards at 7.2 YPC, well, anyone should.

Fred Warner is so fucking good

EDIT - Yeesh that throw by Purdy was quacking a bit, just begging for a pick. But Deebo went up and high pointed it great.

I regretted taking Seattle +3.5 even before kickoff. The Niners are 0-3 in one-score games; the Seahawks’ three wins were against Denver, New England, and Miami. Should’ve seen this coming.

In my lifetime, besides the Bills x 4, these Niners not winning the SB is the most surprising. They are so organized on their lines. Their oline is poetry in motion, their Dline is always pressuring. They gacked the first time against KC, bad luck with Purdy getting hurt at Philly, and last year was as close as it gets. Single season I guess the undefeated Pats and that 15-1 Vikings team was more surprising but over a span of years, I think it’s these guys.

Really nice play by the LB (Warner?) had to get it over him and it was a little high for Lockett

Edit: Woof on Metcalf being out of bounds by 1 inch. Ever since Edelman and Brady ran that beautiful in & out catch on the goal line against the Seahawks in the Super Bowl I've wondered why more teams don't run that.

Wait... were you not born in '94!? ... OH you mean THESE Niners, not like the Steve Young Niners.

I think these Niners are a good example of the point everyone makes about Tom Brady, that with the Pats he could have had 8-9 Super Bowls or 1-3 with a few extra bounces, flags, turnovers. Change 1-2 plays and these Niners easily could have won both of their Super Bowls against the Chiefs, for example.

It is amazing especially with so many and such sophisticated replay footage.

Shanny is going to miss the TO he's wasting by challenging that call.

Edit - oops - he obviously touched it and the replay center ignored it.

I think that was both the just call and the wrong call.
kind of felt like the refs saw that the guy disengaged the block and made contact with the returner, but they can't call it so they just ignored the slight touch of the ball

It was tough. First off, I think the SF defender probably runs into the punt returner even without the block attempt by the Seattle player. Secondly, once the ref throws the flag Seattle thinks it's on the Niners, which rightfully or not, might have decreased their urgency for getting on the ball. I'm fine with them blowing that review rather than giving the Niners the ball there.

That was unbelievable by the replay folks. They legit cost the 49ers an easy FG or TD. It’s not their job to question the block, but if it was touched - it was.

This by the way is the stupidest of all rules... the play should be dead, there is zero advantage for the D, and instead you reward the team that committed the penalty
