This sounds like a winning answer from Roger Goodell at his annual press conference before the Super Bowl, if he’s even still doing them.
The trend toward moving national games to streaming only platforms is so shortsighted. The only “research” implication I can really think of is how they might compare to other subscription packages like Sunday Ticket which has always seemed way too expensive and, when it was with DirectTV, inaccessible. Otherwise it is really just a pure money grab.
Also, ESPN+ is stupid.
Once we have sufficient sample size to answer that definitively, I'm sure the research will be published. That will be 10-15 years from now. In the meantime, I like players protecting themselves.

I like players protecting themselves too. There’s no evidence that they are in fact doing that with these caps. In fact, the greater likelihood is that the players think they are protecting themselves by wearing these stupid fucking things but in actuality aren’t because of shit like this:

so no real good evidence they have any impact at all. maybe it helps but a lot of these things feel like ass covering by the league in combination with the companies making these things
