Apropos of nothing, really, but my favorite falafel place is run by an Egyptian guy. He asked me to make a google review for him and the review just before mine was from (someone using the name) Mo Salah, which found hilarious when I told him.

I still haven't watched the Union game yet, but Frankfurt just took the lead over Bayern in Munich in the 83rd minute. Which has me feeling really smart about the princely EUR 3,50 wager that I put on Frankfurt at +1050.

You could buy a lot of falafel with those winnings.

This was such a great game by both teams. They’ll both be disappointed they didn’t take all 3 points and you could argue both deserved all 3. Love the effort with both having played so many matches in succession.

Bayern just sent Neuer up for a corner and very nearly got caught on a counter.

And now, it's falafel time!

Great game … weird that Liverpool were miles better in the second half but still shipped two goals. Kind of disappointing being up 2-1 and the tying goal goes in on a deflection. Still … a draw was probably fair.

City just played Chelsea, PSG, and Liverpool in a week and arguably dominated all 3 except for 2nd half at Anfield. Already gone away to Liverpool and Chelsea in the league. Goals are going to be a problem because as well as City played it’s a 1-1-1 week because the lethality that Salah displayed isn’t there but what a week of football that was

California. Duh.
That gave certainly is never boring. Milner definitely got the veteran treatment a couple of times.

4 high quality goals, both teams with chances to win it late. Great entertainment.

Sterling had a couple chances on the break but was 100% looking to pass instead of shoot. Not what you want out of your speed-burner sub going up against defenders that have spent the last 80+ minutes running all over the place.

This is probably going to come down to results in the top 4 mini league … Pool have now dropped 4 points at home to Chelsea and City … so advantage City?

The problem with the Milner decision is that Cancelo faces a very similar conundrum but makes a half hearted challenge on Salah which leads to a goal. Milner knows he’s on a yellow and makes the challenge. If that happened to Liverpool there would be an inquisition that follows

In a vacuum sure .. but Milner’s was kind of a meaningless mid-field challenge. Stupid to be sure and if the game was at the Etihad it might have been a different result. And surely you aren’t suggesting that league officials are biased against City?

I think it’s a testament to Liverpool fans that they’re so rabid a ref like Tierney is intimidated into missing a very obvious match changing decision. Cancelo’s “challenge” was also in the Liverpool half. Very little separates these teams that extra edge can be a difference

But wait … Pep claimed that Anfield made no difference ;)

I actually agree with you … such is home field advantage.

And it’s also testament to Milner’s experience in that he reckoned he could get away with it. I’m not even sure it was worth a yellow (especially a second yellow )

One of the below-the-radar stories of this season is that Leicester look like a bottom-half side.

Vardy's still scoring goals, but they have zero production from elsewhere. The defending has been awful, only Leeds, Newcastle, and Norwich have conceded more. Their only wins are over Norwich and Wolves, they could only manage draws against Palace and Burnley. A moral-victory loss to City, Brighton beat them soundly, and they got blown out by WH.
