If Arsenal can't beat Chelsea today, they might as well call it a season and rest up for the Europa League next year.

Gabriel didn't do a single thing that deserved a card. Costa deserved at least one red, maybe two.

The fact he can get away with all this shit and nothing is done retrospectively basically encourages the behavior. He needs to sit for a long period.

Gabriel deserved a card for being a total dumbass and keeping that situation going on and on and on. Costa deserved a red for the two-handed shove on Koscielny during play, and if he'd gotten it the rest of the situation would have never occurred.

No he didn't. Gabriel basically just backed into Costa while Costa also stepped into him. Also, it wasn't even a second yellow; it was a straight red.

There is something to be said for keeping your cool under pressure, and if you're escalating an already hot situation, receiving a card isn't out of the question. I didn't see the supposed heel flick, but totally separate from that I'm ok with a yellow.

Thank God for video review. If there's any justice that fucking shitstain Costa will get retroactive punishment for his embarrassing conduct and Gabriel will get his suspension reduced to a game.

On the bright side, Costa will probably never get another call in the EPL after this week.

Now that they're losing, someone at Arsenal may as well do the league a favor and give Costa the Luke Shaw treatment.

Gabriel and Conq are out, who's gonna do it, Walcott?  Lieutenant Weinberg?  I guess we can hope Nacho does it by accident or something.

...and now it's 12v9.

(though Mike Dean's second yellow to Cazorla is pretty defensible imho)

Costa is the fucking best.

Love the commentators decrying the soft yellows and the decline of the physical game.  While simultaneously decrying the play of Diego Costa.

I said it when he signed and I'll say it again, Diego Costa is the prototypical Jose Mourinho player.  I bet if you asked him, Jose would play with 11 Costas

But it's not physical play..it's cheap heal clips, kicks behind the play, hands to the face, two hand shoves...all with intention of trying to draw a reaction (all while also falling over, flopping and diving at the least bit of contact).  How he doesn't get sent off for any of this is beyond me.

Leicester, comes back from 2 down a second week in a row. Fun team to watch, great attacking, bad defending is always a good combination for neutrals.

West ham keeping organized and collapsing deep on D and taking advantage of the counter.
Moses' shot was especially great.

West Ham have now beaten Arsenal, Liverpool, and Man City away, while losing to Leicester and Bournemouth at home.  Try making sense of that.

City played down the wings a lot but their final ball was usually awful.  Navas in particular was brutal with his crossing.

Loss doesn't upset me. Credit to West Ham for standing up but City win that match 99% of the time. Just about had it with Navas, at some point you have to be able to find a teammate with a cross

Well Part of it is style of play. This is a really good countering team, that can get a bit sloppy in possession, and the FB can be exploited on the counter.
Basically a really good countering team that is itself vulnerable to the counter.

Edit- 4th time a team has beaten City, Arsenal and Liverpool away in the same season. '96 Everton, '05 Man. U. and '06 Chelsea are the other 3.

Well, there were several years when that wasn't possible, thanks to City being in the second or third division.
