Levert wanted to be sure of the last shot, so he went with the Pierce elbow J instead of roasting them inside again and risking leaving time.

I can’t wait to watch Kyrie stunt LeVert’s growth next year. Dude should ask for a trade right now.

I wish the Nets were playing a worse defensive team next. They are gold for hitting overs in the right matchup.

Really? A meaningless game for BRK and you get a nice open step back from your best player to win it as time expires. Exactly how I would hsve drawn it up
Against a good D completely agree. I think they could have gotten an easier look taking it to the basket or take the shot earlier since the Blazers were giving up a ton of offensive rebounds in the 4th.

Well, he shares an agent with his new ball-dominant teammates. They may want to make it happen all around to get him a starring role elsewhere and let KD/Kyrie shine. He will be wasted as a spot up shooter next to them.

Whew.

It's amazing to me that Lillard-McCollum-Trent-Melo-Nurkic is the best defensive unit the Blazers can muster with the season on the line. Fortunately. LeVert, who had been getting to the rim at will, bailed them out with a J.

Bring on the Grizzlies!

The refs swallow their whistles on the final possession of the game, taking a jump shot (if you can get a decent look) is generally the safer option as opposed to potentially seeking contact in the paint. I will say that that shot was probably their worst look of the last 4-5 minutes.

The West is going to be an absolute bloodbath next season with GS coming back, if Phoenix can carry some of this moving forward, and Memphis at least maintains this scrappiness/sees improvement from their youth. East needs some serious improvement at the bottom to catch up to that level of play.

Not to look too far ahead, Toronto will handle Brooklyn but I at least like that they can’t just coast. The Nets play hard for all 48 and know where their bread is buttered on offense. Not much defensive talent to speak of on the roster, but they can make you work if their shots are falling.

Yeah it's insane how the West has just dominated for two full decades now. Of the 15 teams, is Minnesota the only one with no real shot at the playoffs?

Wow, I'm just waking up to this unreal Nets/Blazers box score. What happened? This was a meaningless game for the Nets, but it looked like they played hard for the win, after the Bucks rolled over for the Grizzlies, and the Mavs rolled over for the Suns. But the Nets, who presumably would benefit from a well-rested team to start the playoffs and presumably would not want to risk a starter getting injured in a game that meant nothing, didn't. Huh???

The Bucks and the Mavs know who they are, and likely just wanted to rest. The Nets only hope against the Raptors is to rise to the occasion beyond all belief, and I can totally see the value of trying to instill the feeling of "bring it, every single day" to a team entering that spot.

The nets haven't rolled over for anyone in the bubble (except the Cs) despite the fact that they could have easily come in here, got slaughtered, and no one would have blamed them with the current roster. Giving them a chance to play all out against a team that is clearly better than them and had everything to play for is a great test. They're going to get stomped by the raptors whether they rested guys today or not, so you might as well give your team full reps against a team playing in a game 7 type atmosphere, it can't hurt for the future.

Yup, and showing off LeVert in competitive games is important if they want to deal him next year.

Glad Levert is showing out. He cant play with Kyrie but i hope he doesnt end up anywhere too awful (Charlotte, etc). He deserves to have people watch his games at least once a year.

Also, smh...insanity

I would not count Minnesota out. Assuming reasonable health a roster with Town, Russell and Beasley should at least score a ton. If they get something out of this years lottery pick and/or Culver is not as terrible as he looked this season, they could be in the hunt (particularly if there is a play in game again).

I have to wonder whether Pop would consider tanking for one year again. It is supposed to be a really strong draft at the top. No one else in the West is tanking. Even in the East it is basically just the Knicks, Piston and Cavs (I assume the Hawks take a small step forward with competent back PG play and a full season of Collins, along with further growth from Young and their young wings). On the other hand, the Spurs were far friskier than expected in the bubble and he does not have that many years left on the bench. But from the organization's perspective it really is a golden opportunity.

Culver shot 32% from three in January. 35% in February. 42% in March. He looked a lot better as the season progressed.
Problem with MIN is their defense with Russell and Towns will always be not good.

Fun Grizzlies-Blazers game for the 8th seed. Nurk was a beast in the first half with 17 boards
