The NBA should announce tomorrow all three of these refs are being sent home. Neither of these calls is one any credible basketball fan would even consider defending.

What a terrible way to show off your product

Show me an NBA board on the entire internet that does not do this.
SoSH is better than most boards. A couple of questionable calls and this plays turns into Chiefs Planet. The Celtics aren’t even in this game.

I wish I didn’t turn this game on.
I’m all worked up now about a game, and two teams I wouldn’t have cared about otherwise.

Well, in fairness, Giannis shouldn't have been in the game to commit the foul, because he had somewhere north of 10 fouls not called tonight.

The correct team won, but wow, the only reason not to believe some of these guys aren't on the take is they aren't competent enough to execute a fix

Giannis, Middleton's shot, and Butler seems like he can be guarded by all the premium wings we have.

Celtics match up well with Bucks, defensively. Walker can guard Herro or Goran, too.
Certainly it will be a less frustrating series to watch without Theis fouling out every game with the Giannis auto-whistle.
Dumb finish but the Heat are really tough as nails.

This game is like one of those boxing matches where one fighter dominates but somehow it’s a split decision. The right team won but you don’t feel good about it.

If I’m Butler I miss the first one for fun.
Given his performance just a few minutes ago... no.

All hail the Heat, up 2-0. Now if Boston can take care of business tomorrow night I'll feel a whole lot better about Jayson leading the Celtics to #18.

That was...unsatisfying. But then again it would have been the same if the Bucks won it in overtime after the call on the other side.

This game would have been much shorter, more exciting and so much better without either horrible call. Way to ruin it refs.

That was an embarrassment for the NBA.

The Heats’ sphincters tightened pretty firm there at the end, but they’re a tough, we’ll-coached team. Spo really deserves credit.

Right.. because refs are ruining a game that we love to watch but is a horrible product because of how bad the officiating is.

This is where coach bud is a true disservice. The wwf ball the refs are letting the heat play giannis is a joke. Phil Jackson would be killing the refs to clean it out. I just watched 4 quarters of the heat beating the shit out the mvp every time down. That was barely basketball.

Ridiculous ending, neither one was a foul, appreciate Doris holding her ground. Javie is just the worst.

Of the two, I can sort of maybe see getting the Dragic foul wrong. NBA players do sometimes try to get away with putting their arms straight up while they walk under the shooter and bump them with their body. I don't think thats what happened there and I think Dragic just stayed in his own space while Middleton leaned into him, but it's sort of maybe, kind of, an excusable missed call.

The second one was a little hand tap well after the ball was released. Aside from the possible make-up nature of that call, it made zero sense in a tie game buzzer beater situation.

I appreciate those suffering from Doris fatigue but she completely redeemed herself by calling Steve Javie an idiot on national television. I expect Tommy Heinsohn to propose marriage any moment now.
Doris isn't perfect but I challenge anyone to name a more prepared color commentator on a national broadcast. She and Stan Van Gundy are in a class of their own and both are tough but fair on officiating

I think we watched 2 different games.

I don't agree Giannis was mugged all game.

That said, I do think Coach Bud has not shown himself to be a wartime consigliere either. He doesn't work the refs, he doesn't adjust, he doesn't seem to be a great motivator. As good as he is in regular season, I'm not buying it yet again in the postseason

There was also the non-call when Butler got trapped in the corner and both defenders grabbed nothing but his arms, leading to a turnover. And a couple minutes earlier, the offensive rebound where Giannis threw Jones out of the way, tackled Kelly O. leading to another 2 points.

He has no flex. He can’t adapt like the rest of the coaches left in the conference right now, even though he has the personnel to. Must have Bucks‘ fans infuriated, and Mark Cuban imagining the sickest PnR pairing in the universe.

A fan on Brew Hoop after Game One said “we have by far the worst coach among the four Eastern teams.” At first I was, like “c’mon, Coach Bud is great, typical overreaction” ... then I was like, “oh wait, he’s right.” But that’s partly cos the other three are incredible.

Her short explanation of making sure you foul on the down dribble (to avoid a shooting foul when you have one to give) was something I'd never heard before.

Spo doesn’t get enough credit for being a young relative nobody coach and surviving LeBron.

Though you do get the sense he is Pat Riley’s favorite son and was likely protected.
