Kawhi was awful today outside of a few good plays. PG bailed his ass out
23 points on 19 shots, 14 boards, 6 assists and 2 blocks. He did have 4 turnovers, but I wouldn't call him awful. Mortal, maybe, but he looked pretty good for the most part to me.

Kawhi has a good game where his team earns an important playoff win and he gets shade. Oh and the Clippers are two wins away from the WCF.

I mean...there is exactly one human being we know of who is capable of that sort of play. Him. What makes it more remarkable is that there are so many amazing athletes in the NBA who simply can't make that play. The dude is a freak in terms of appendages, strength and laser focus.

Playoff Kawhi is the best player in the bubble IMO until someone knocks him off.

I’m going through the remaining teams in my head and I don’t think it’s even close. He’s head and shoulders above all the other stars.

Not to say the Clippers will have a cakewalk, since they have their own issues. Loving this high-quality parity.

Yeah, aside from the Lakers, every team is like one rotation player injury away from mediocre. And frankly the Lakers aren't in that boat only because everyone past 1-2 is already a jag.

Lack of a juggernaut is good.

I don't remember who said it or where, but after last season I remember someone stating that Giannis is the guy you want for a full season, Kawhi for a playoff series, and LeBron for a single game. That still seems like the answer to me.

IMO, LeBron is still the best player in the world. At age 35 he just put up a 25.3 point, 7.8 rebound, 10.3 assist, 1.2 steal season. I know both Kawhi and Giannis are better defenders. I get it. I still think LeBron is the best.

The good news is that we're likely to see this play out. If KL et al. take down the LAL, there's no more discussion.

The apologists will speak to LA's garbage fire after 1-2, but when your sidekick is a top 5 player, you better win.

I'll believe it when I see it.

LeBron's numbers are remarkable for being 35, but just because he happens to be older than Kawhi/Giannis it does not make him the best. I can see the argument that LeBron is the smartest, most cerebral of those players and has the most experience, and in some ways that makes him the player you would want in a playoff series, but he isn't the best player in the world.

Just my two cents... but LeBron is still reffed like he is the best player in the world. If the reffing for all players were equal, then there's a reasonable argument to be made for others. Until he fades a bit more, he IS *effectively* the best player in the world based on the reffing he receives. Specifically his shoulder drop and ram through an opponent for a free trip to the line any time he wants it (because 'refs'), and the travelling he does more than many other players... His influence on games is also amplified because he doesn't get called for fouls, and his opposing defenders do - which allows him to impact games longer or more significantly than if otherwise reffed. That doesn't even count the technical foul stuff he gets away with... I mean Tatum got a weak T the other night that if held to the same standard LeBron would have gotten 5-6 in the one game alone.

"Jordan rules" sucked when he was the beneficiary of them, and still suck when applied to any other player. </End get off my lawn rant>

It's ok to disagree. I think he's still the best player in the world no matter what his age is. That he's that (IMO) - or at least in the conversation - at age 35 is insane.

In fairness, there isn't much difference in the "shoulder drop and ram through an opponent for a free trip to the line" nor in the way the refs officiate Giannis and Lebron.

When Giannis fouled the shooter at the end of the game last week leading to a loss, a questionable call at best, my first reaction was "Well, if he had just fouled out after committing 14 fouls earlier in the game, maybe the Bucks would have won."

So either GH is not a rotation player injury. or the Celts are mediocre?

Sigh, you are correct -- the Celtics abilkty to absorb a rotation player injury is dissipated.

Assuming they can win one of the next two .. this may be the biggest consequence of that 0.5 second disaster.
The extra games -- most of them rock fights -- means extra wear and tear, hence increased probabitly of someone getting hurt (or more hurt).

Bucks offense flows better without Giannis on the floor. Maybe that’s because Miami schemed for Giannis to be there, but this has carried into this game.

What is Reggie watching where he thinks that's not a clean ball? I have never been a Reggie fan as a broadcaster
I think Reggie was reacting to the one angle where it appears that the forearm is moving. But the problem is there's no angle where you actually see Herro touch the forearm to cause it to more. Hence, it moved on its own.

The block was clean, but then he smashed him in the face on the follow-through. Definitely a foul on Lopez.

Yeah Lopez, maybe if you didn't always need to take the block a step too far by following through on the body, that would be a worthwhile challenge. But picking noses are not allowed during Covid, guy.
