What to expect from Ed-Ro....

First, let me say here that I'm here mostly to read everyone else's thoughts and analysis on All Things Red Sox. I don't have much to contribute....
Anyhow, I haven't seen much discussion about Rodriguez this preseason yet so I'm tossing this out here to hopefully pick up some of y'alls insight.
Assuming no injuries, I'm expecting Sale to be great, Price to be great but occasionally maddening. Porcello to regress some but still put up "no.2 starter" quality stuff. If Ed Ro can get over his tipping... I'd expect him to be right there with Porcello. Not quite an ace but borderline "no.1" guy for most teams.
And yes, I'm aware that "ace" and "no.1" are sort of the same, but baseball casual verbiage has changed their definitions some...

Not here
I don't think anyone knows what to expect. I know I don't.

If he's healthy and has all his mechanics in line, we could have four guys in our rotation most teams would like to have at the head of theirs. If not, not.

Personally, I would just like to see him get through the season without any mechanical nonsense, and without any big injuries so he can just be an effective pitcher so we can worry about him being an outstanding pitcher next year.

His consistency, composure, and competitiveness will define him. I like his stuff as much as Lester's (who I was pessimistic on before his last year in Boston and has surprised me), and today to start the game he threw Turner one of the first dominant change ups I have seen out of him.

I think he will have some frustrating moments along the way, but I think he could very easily be one of best #4s in the league this season if he falls anywhere on the positive side of his range of outcomes.

I will take the over on 150 IP and 2.0 WAR, which is roughly where his projections lie. I think he is at the age and experience where he can apply and benefit from being around the three aces, and would expect to see growth this season that might not have been completely reasonable to expect last year where he had his little sophomore slump regression.
