Aaron Judge sits at 60 homers entering the 4-game series against the Sox. Will Judge match and surpass Maris during the series? What say you SOSH?

I'm going with Brasier to serve up #61.

I'm going with Hard Contact Brasier to give up #61, Hill to give up #62, and Bazardo to give up #63.

Hill and Strahm are the only two lefties on the staff now, and you'd guess Cora will try to avoid letting Strahm anywhere near Judge. I went with Hill.

Meatballs... Every At Bat. Needs to average one HR a game for the rest of the schedule to pass Bonds. Let's make it a little easier for him.

Judge has hit righties better than lefties this year, FWIW, both OPS and HR/AB.

Why are they pitching to him at all? Just pitch around him, don't let the best guy beat you. He's their only constant threat right now.

This question made more sense a few days ago, but the lineup seems to be collectively waking up. In the two games with Bader, they have scored 23 runs and Judge only knocked in one of them (with his solo HR on Tuesday). As for doing that tonight, Rizzo (their #2 hitter) has great career numbers against Wacha and Gleyber (their #3 hitter) hit two homers in the 8th inning last night.

Shouldn’t we not be that interested in winning at this point? We can still jump San Francisco and Arizona in frat position. I’d rather see history anyways.

It will be fascinating to see who gives up the HR that gives Judge the 7th highest single season HR total of all time.

Ha! Well you know, AL record counts for something.

I'm sure in some people's minds this would be a "clean" surpassing of Maris, unlike the McGwire/Sosa/Bonds efforts. I try not to presume I know who is "clean" or that I even really know exactly what that means.

Would love to see them IBB him every time regardless of game situation. This is a lost season for the Sox anyway so the game results don’t really matter. But IBB’ing Nudge 20 times this series would be amazing to see imho. Mostly just to torque off all the MFY fans that spent a good deal of money to catch a glimpse of history. I’m usually not a very petty person or have much room for hate in my heart but… fuck em. Fuck em all.

I voted Brazier with a "full tilt" as the ball sails at a high velocity to his right. If this doesn't happen, it is 80% Hill gives up the homer. But a 5% chance he is a red-ass and throws one inside at Judge's hands, breaks a wrist, and receives nonstop death threats from Yankee nation.

If a Sox player were chasing history against George Steinbrenner's Yankees from the 70s/80s, he would order Billy Martin to have his pitchers walk the guy every time. Then he would proceed to fire Billy Martin anyway.

If it weren't for TJ Friedl the other night, I would have said Bello was overdue and it would be fitting for him to give up an extra historic HR as his first. Ah hell, I'm still going with Bello.

I picture Matt Strahm in 2032, blotto in some Fargo gin joint, telling his old high school buddies stories from his career as a fungible bullpen spare part.

Jimbo: Yeah, Matt, it didn't turn out the way you expected. But at least you made it to The Show.

Skeeter: Ha. Barely made it. Mr. Irrelevant!

Matt, wincing at word "irrelevant," lost in thought: Well, I wasn't irrelevant to Aaron Judge. in fact you could say we combined to make something special happen. it was September 24, 2022...I remember it like it was yesterday...
