Giants signed him to a 3-year extension a couple of months later.Feeling the lingering effects of his strained shoulder, San Francisco Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval was not able to start last night’s pivotal game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Before the contest, Giants manager Bruce Bochy noted that Sandoval’s shoulder could require surgery following the season.
At this point, Sandoval’s shoulder is causing him so much discomfort when he swings right-handed, that he is unable to face lefty pitching...
..The Panda has been ridiculous in September, posting a line of .357/.406/.821 with 12 extra base hits and 16 RBI’s this month.
He had just been named 2014 WS MVP, plus, there were one helluva lot of Panda hats and Panda heads in the stands at AT&T for all home games. He was beloved because he had some good years. Might also be that you win three World Series in five years and you give more rope to a guy who was a part of all three (yes, benched for the 2010 one). And, there was the same dearth of third basemen from the Giants viewpoint as from the Sox viewpoint. They brought in Casey McGehee, who was really bad, then got lucky with Duffman. Whatever, lot of rationalizing in this post, yes.As to the disclosures of the trainer, etc, all I can say I'm dumbstruck that the Gants were still in have on this guy last year. They banned room service and were still willing to give him a big money deal? Wow.
They wanted a weight clause in the contract. Pablo refused. As to the disclosures of the trainer, etc, all I can say I'm dumbstruck that the Gants were still in have on this guy last year. They banned room service and were still willing to give him a big money deal? Wow.
He's still working out at the FortThis is my favorite career-ending injury since Craig Grebeck fouled that ball off his foot.

Pablo Sandoval tells reporters on way out of Fenway that MRI results on his shoulder were "not good," which is why he's seeking the second opinion from Dr. James Andrews.

Too bad it's just not that easy. Just because you get a bypass or a lap band, unless you fix the underlying bad eating habits, nothing is going to change. Sure, he might have a short term weight loss. But he can still eat his way through the band or eat enough to render the bypass useless. And he can't eat the wrong things either or he'll start having major health problems from a lack of protein in the diet.Does Andrews do lap band?
Fix the shoulder and get bypass or lap. Chalk this up similar to Lackeys lost years and they can recoup the contract through performance or trade. I've resisted getting on the train of railroading him, but obviously there's more to it than we know.
