"He didn't do anything wrong...he just missed the ball". Isn't that the definition of doing something wrong?
I got ripped in the game thread the night Dalbec hit the HR against the Yankees for saying "enjoy it because it will be months before he has another big hit". I was NOT wrong. He is hurting this team in the field and at the plate and this team can ill-afford it.
Well if I was in that thread I would have thought you’d be wrong too. But I was wrong. I like Bobby a lot, way more than I should. But his time has come. It’s time to take him out back.
The only way we score any more in this game is if Chicago blows it open. Then we MIGHT put a couple runs up in the 9th.
I actually like him too and really wanted it to pan out for him, but he's a maybe good player trying to survive in a league where you have to be very good or great pretty consistently.
There were a bunch of sluggers Jimy Williams just couldn't bring himself to use back then.
Shurg. Play Franchy at first, and call up Fitzgerald instead. Once Dalbec goes on a tear, bring him up.
If the script goes well, Duran will homer after Plawecki walks, and this will be the moment the season turns around.
