I am about a quarter of the way through looking at prospects. I'll give you my favorites in terms of the big name top 50 guys at the position I like and then people who might not even get drafted and between.

Wide Receivers:
Where do I even start? I like a ton of guys this year. Ignoring the consensus top 3: Ruggs, Ceedee, and Jeudy (who I all have as 8+ players so... first round material).

Slot only: 1) KJ Hamler - at 178 he'd be smaller than guys Bill usually drafts but he is in the ~16th percentile for weight. For me, I don't like extreme outliers. Hamler might be short but even then he's at the ~8th percentile not the 2nd. He's small. He has smallish arms but over 30 inches at 5'8" isn't bad, same for his hand size of 9 and 3/8 inches. He's an advanced route runner with plenty of deception. He wins with his great route running, speed and athleticism. He's not just straight line fast either but has short area burst, start-stop, can break on a dime. He can offer you special teams versatility as a returner. You want to get vertical from the slot? Hamler is your guy.
2) James Proche: Full disclosure, I know with his limited athleticism and short arms he might not even get drafted. He is a guy who does everything right, knows how get separation with his breaks, his mental game is top notch. He is a black hole for catching footballs. His body control is elite. He is a great route runner.
Honorable mention: Chase Claypool - I liked him as a big slot before he tore the combine apart. I think some of that athleticism is there on tape but he hasn't been

Slot and/or Z: 1) Justin Jefferson. Look, I thought he was a 4.52 40 kind of guy which is actually good but not great. I was higher on his athleticism than consensus but even I had him as an 85th percentile athlete vs the 98.3% he tested at. He ran a 4.43 and pretty much blew up the combine. What's funny is his athleticism isn't even how he wins - he wins with his elite route running, great catch radius and hands, and then with his athleticism and vision gives you YAC. Slot and Z are full time positions. Harry is a guy they want to play outside. Most of the time you have 2 receivers on the field. Jefferson COULD grow into a guy who can play outside but even if he doesn't do you want an elite slot and z guy? That's him.
2) Bryan Edwards: He's going to slip because he broke his foot and didn't test. Also, full disclosure I do think he can play all 3 roles but I am most comfortable with him as a Z and then a bigger slot. He is another great route runner who excels in contested catch situations but also gets separation. He's deceptive. He's also someone who had he tested, like Jefferson, I think he would have shown people he is actually athletic and not some scrub. He has been dominant from an early age - that matters. Always a YAC threat and can win wit power after the catch.
Honorable mention: Devin Duvernay: athletically and play style wise I think he reminds me a lot of Deebo.

Outside and Inside:
1) Michael Pittman: I've been higher on Pittman than consensus and was not surprised he tested solid across the board. A 4.52 40 for a guy close to 230 is fantastic. He has improved every year in college. Another guy where I like his route running, athleticism, deception, he actually has v sharp breaks for even a smaller player, and his catch radius. I like his game a ton. I think with the Pats between his blocking and versatility BB is going to love this guy. I think he offers you a similar skillset to Sanu at the minimum but with a higher ceiling.
2) Isaiah Hodgins: He is either my second outside only binkie or he might play on the inside too. Smooth, and only a tick slow. Think long, somewhat lean, long arms, great body control, and smooth in and out of breaks. I love the kind of floor he brings. Reminds me a bit of a LaFell type.

Outside Only:
1) Denzel Mims. In some ways I am kind of pissed he tested so well because he was flying under the GD radar. He's a fucking alpha dog. If there is a key down guess who the ball is going to? Mims. He beats press like it owes him money and showed that during the senior bowl practices too. He doesn't run a ton of routes but he runs the ones he does v well with plenty of deception and crisp breaks. I have 0 problems projecting him as a guy who will learn. He has some ball security concerns and concentration drop errors but nothing glaring there. You want a prototypical X? Give me Mims. The best is yet to come with him. I don't know where he will end up on boards now. Pre-combine he was a 2nd round grade for me, 7.5. Now he is a borderline 1st early 2nd. I think the consensus had him in the 3rd or 4th round.

I get it, 9 binkies is a lot for one position. But if DJ has ~30 day 1 and 2 grades on WRs we're probably all going to have a bunch of guys we like.

Tight end: Kmet TE1 so he can't exactly be a binkie.
Harrison Bryant: Probably going day 3. Not necessarily the best inline guy but someone who can be used to block with and flexed out. He is a savvy receiver with good hands and body control. Versatile TE2 piece. He also will give it his all as a blocker but like all the other TEs has some work to do there.
Josiah Deguara: Same thing as Bryant but smaller. Deguara is probably a better route runner but he can't play inline at all.
Honorable mention: I know he didn't test great but Asiasi could be a nice backup TE who can also do it all. His speed is good for his size 4.73 40 at 257 pounds.

LB/Edge: Edge is not loaded this year. Aside from Chase Young at the top it's not a top heavy or particularly deep class. That being said I have a couple of guys who I liked a lot and one who is not going anywhere near round 1 or 2. I do think the top 2-4 are all fits: YGM, AJ Epenesa, and Chaisson. I am having a lot of trouble grading them especially Chaisson and YGM.
I'd put Zach Baun on here but he is going early day 2 or late day 1 now apparently. He's a stud. I really love his tape and his athletic testing was good. Hello Van Noy 2.0. As for the binkies:
Jonathan Greenard: He's stout against the run and has enough bend, burst and athleticism to rush the passer. Is developing more hand counters but was highly productive after a position switch at Florida. I like his floor as a guy with plenty of power at the point of attack. You want to play him with his hand in the dirt - he has more get-off that way. He is long too and his tackle radius is impressive. He gets one hand on you and you're going down. He has also ridden tackles back into the laps of QBs for sacks. You have work to do with him to develop him as a complete player but I think he could develop into a 5-8 sack guy who excels shutting down the run.
Julian Okwara: He is a speed rusher who is good in coverage. He is developing his pass rush moves and countermoves but has length and knows how to use it. He is also good about not giving the opposing tackle anything to punch or grab. His biggest area of improvement is he needs to add functional strength against the run. He might be on some radars for early day 2.
Honorable mention: Bradlee Anae - great hands, great processing speed, does everything you want but unfortunately is just a little bit slow, an average athlete, and doesn't have length. Like his floor. I think he's a low-end starter.

I need to get to alllll the other positions. I will fill out as I go.

So what say you all? Who do you love? Like?

As a BC fan, I'm admittedly biased toward AJ Dillon, but after his freakazoid combine (4.53 40, RB-best vertical and broad jumps, all at 247 lbs), I don't think it's unjustified. This year's Derrick Henry.

I'm going to define binkies here as players I think I'm higher on than the consensus.

Gabriel Davis: I loved his game against Pitt. The Panthers have good, aggressive press corners and Davis feasted. I think he's a really good outside receiver who has size, toughness, and ability. He ran a 4.54 40, which is N'Keal Harry speed, but Davis had much better game speed than Harry showed. I think he's a good #2 WR in the NFL.

Devin Duvernay: I I compared him to Deebo Samuel before, and I'm sticking with it. Duvernay has better long speed and Deebo is bigger/stronger, but I think Duvernay will fill that sort of role. I think he'd look really good in NE's offense.

Antonio Gandy-Golden: I saw a Brandon Marshall comp for him recently, which run true for me. AGG ran a slow-sh 40 (4.60), but his play speed was fine. He's a big, strong, tough dude who has surprising explosion off the line.

Tee Higgins: For me, Jeudy and Lamb are the top tier. I have Higgins in the next tier with Ruggs (with Higgins #3 for me). His toughness over the middle has been questioned, but I thought he looked plenty tough in the CFB playoffs. Beyond that, he does a lot of AJ Green things.

Dalton Keene: He tested really well, as I expected. Athletic enough to get 11 carries on the season, which you just don't see out of a TE (although I remember when BB gave Sweet Leaf some carries, and that was always fun and productive). The type of versatile player that BB could make good use of.

Rashard Lawrence: Just such a physical, nasty DL. Heavy handed and aggressive. He wants to kick your ass for 60 minutes and he sets the tone for the defense. A 5.07 40 was a solid time for him, but he's just okay as a physical specimen (6'2, 308#, but 34+" arms and 11" hands). He just reminds me so much of Lawrence Guy. Impact > counting stats.

DJ Wonnum: Really good physical profile (6'5, 258#, 34+" arms, 4.73 40, 34.5" vertical). His rush production was just okay (4.5 sacks) but I liked his play against the run. I think with his physical skills, there's rush upside there.

Akeem Davis-Gaither: 6'1, 224# so he's not remotely what NE looks for in a LB. That said, all he does is make plays. He's a bad dude he lines up all over the place. Someone is going to take him and love him.

Josh Uche: 6'1, 245#, so he's shorter than ideal for NE. Almost 34" arms though, and he's explosive as all heck. Impactful off the edge and looks comfortable in space.

I haven't really dug into the the two small school safeties (Chinn and Dugger), but I'm very intrigued. NE has traditionally valued assignment football over physical skills out of their safety prospects (Richards, Wilson, Harmon, Sanders, etc.), so I don't know if these kids fit the bill. That said, chess pieces who can run, cover, and attack with physicality don't grown on trees. With running QBs and RPOs that attach the LOS horizontally, those guys are more important than ever.

There are like a hundred great receiving prospects this year and watch, the Pats will draft the one guy that sucks.

I want TE Moss. Yes probably mainly because he's Randy's son. But I think he's pretty good too and probably can be had with a 3rd or even 4th round pick, which might represent great value.

Is be really happy if Ruggs fell to the Pats and they grabbed him. I like Harry, but want to add more youth at the position and I think his speed and ability is off the charts.

I do have a soft spot for Moss, and think he’s an interesting prospect. I’d grab Montez late as a project for Josh. I don’t know much about kicking other than we’ve been really fucking lucky for twenty five years, but everyone seems to like Blankenship so I’d grab him late.

Here's a hot take for you. I think AJ Dillon would be a better lead back for the Patriots than Sony Michel and I really liked Michel coming out (technically I was higher on Chubb but it was like a 1A/1B thing, whoops). AJ Dillon is the perfect back for man and gap concepts. I also think he is underrated as a receiver and showed as growth there this year. Does he need to work on his receiving? Sure, but even if he doesn't I'd rather have him being a 1-2 down back than Sony. My only concern with him in pass pro is that getting laterally is not his specialty. His pad level for a guy his size is incredible. I've never seen a back his size get skinny through the hole like him.

I think my favorite non consensus round 1 or round 1 buzz receiver this year is Michael Pittman. If I had to rank receivers for their floors Pittman would be near the top if not top 3 for me. Good route runner and especially good at intermediate and short routes. He catches everything and he has impeccable body control. People are drooling over Claypool's combine but give me Pittman every day over him.
I also like Bryan Edwards and Duvernay. This year the question for WR was who is the next Deebo? One of these two guys is your answer. It isn't Reagor because he is allergic to contact.

I'm a pretty big fan of Dillon but dropped him from my draft list when we signed Vitale. However, I'd like to make a pitch for another back: D'Andre Swift.

Swift is potentially the dual-threat RB we've been looking for. He's faster and has better hands than Michel, is bigger and a better runner than White, and has better quickness and contact balance than both. No, he's probably not the pick at #23, but if we move back and are interested in the best player on the board, it's difficult to imagine drafting a player with the potential for a more immediate impact.

He can run the full RB route tree and would be an excellent replacement for our current pass-catching backs. Rex Burkhead is 30, injury-prone, and a potential cap casualty. James White is on his final year, and I doubt we're interested in re-upping for his age 29+ seasons.

Also, White might be a trade candidate to TB -- they don't look to have any viable receiving backs. Last season Jones, Ogunbowale, and Logan had fewer combined receptions (68) than did White (72). Trading him would clear $4.6M.

I like both Michel and Harris, but neither profiles as a receiving threat. And while there are other RBs who might fill this role -- Zack Moss and Darrynton Evans have been mentioned on this board -- I see Swift as an immediate impact player who'd fit very nicely into our offense.

I actually had the same thought regarding Swift the other day. I'm generally very much against taking a RB in the 1st (and felt that way about Sony), but I feel like Swiift would be enough of an upgrade over Sony that I'd at least have to pause and think about it. Taylor could conceivably be in their thought process as well; let's face it, his combo of physical makeup and production are RARE. I really like Swift, but he's a bit smaller than their typical "running" back at 5'8, 212#. Size-wise, Taylor fits their prototype better. While I much prefer front 7 help (or a starting RT if they need Cannon's cap space), RB isn't out of the picture.

I have seen a ton of Auburn's offense this year because I must have seen Bama vs Auburn 9-10 times and I've either been scouting Bama on defense or Auburn on offense. Seen LSU defense vs Auburn too. You know who really pops? I know he isn't in this years draft but Seth Williams @EL Jeffe is freaking sweet. He is going into his junior year and I think he is going to declare after next year. He is not under the radar but he isn't getting the buzz he deserves. Williams is huge, 6'3" and 225 and has some ridiculous moves at the top of his stems as well as great hands and body control. Profiles as an X. Exciting prospect.

What did you make of Marlon Davidson? I recently saw Josh Norris mock him to the Pats in the first round. I never went too in-depth on Davidson, but I probably should at some point. He seemed a little sluggish and not athletic for an edge rusher. Some like him as a DT conversion, others want him to drop weight and stay outside. Davidson and Epenesa are two guys that I don't know what to make of. Are they 5s? 3s? Something else? I liked Epenesa more than Davidson, but I don't have a great feel for either player.

Marlon Davidson is my IDL4, and I have him as a 7.99 which is basically the equivalent of a solid double. I would rather use him on the interior than as an edge. I have to upgrade the slack channel with my notes on them but it will cost me about $200 to do it (one time fee) so I when I do that this Friday I will post specifics. I think he can two-gap, has great power and explosiveness, and his hands and pass rush plan are excellent. Versatility is the name of his game. You don't see guys his size be able to turn the corner the way he does. He is a special talent.

I think Epenesa is a 5 tech but Davidson could be a 5 or a 3 depending on how his next team wants to use him.

Wow, okay. I definitely need to give Davidson a proper look. Any game(s) in particular stand out?

How do you feel about Kenneth Murray? I'm really high on him; I love his play speed, explosion, and tackling--he's a striker. I don't love him in coverage but I think he's adequate. His 3rd down value might be in his ability to be a stand-up rusher though. Team captain. Productive. Very good program. Really good measurables across the board. There's a lot to like.

I will give you the games on Friday. Sorry man, need my notes which are on Slack and I need to upgrade the channel. I will get back to you on Friday on that. I did DL over a month ago and my memory sucks (hence why I wrote a ton of notes).

Murray I also did a while ago but I remember him vividly. I love Murray. I think he offers you a ton of positional flexibility. What gives me pause is his processing. His run fits sometimes are the wrong gaps or he is too aggressive. His processing and being overaggressive are what gives me pause with him but that is it. He is electric crashing the A-gaps. I have a first round grade on him and he is a v respectable 8 on the old ITP scale for me. He's someone who could end up with a ton of tackles, TFL, sacks, PDs, etc. He is a force of chaos and disruption. Yeah, I am very high on him too.

I think Oklahoma blitzed him a lot or rushed him on 3rd downs because coverage is his rawest trait to your point. His instincts in zone are ok. Nothing to write home about. Athletically once he picks up a TE or RB he carries them well at least.

New Day 3 binkie for me: Kamal Martin, ILB from Minnesota. He looks good getting off the bus (6'3, 240#, 34" arms, 10" hands). He had a knee injury late in his senior year so he didn't work out at the combine. He didn't have a lot of splash plays (2.5 TFL, 1 sack, 2 INTs) in 8 games, but his physical traits look good. A little stiff in the hips, not always clean in coverage but definitely adequate. I thought his closing burst looked good. Minnesota used him a bit like Oklahoma used Murray--some standup edge, some A-B gap blitzes, but generally stayed in the box at MLB. Martin definitely isn't Murray, but I think he's a good Day 3 pick who would have gone higher if not for the knee injury. He looks like he fits what the Patriots look for in their ILBs.

I'm not sure binkie is the right term, but with the volume of picks, there are some "boom or bust" high-ceiling players I wouldn't mind them taking a shot with:

Donovan Peoples-Jones: Bryan Edwards and Devin Duvernay are my favorite 3rd round WR prospects, but DPJ is very enticing. The physical skills are RARE. A 44.5" vertical jump reads like a typo, with an 11'7" broad jump. He runs in the mid-high 4.4s on a 6'2, 212# frame with 10+" hands and 33.5" arms. Michigan didn't really know what to do with him; he played outside and as a vertical slot and the production was never very good. That said, Michigan's offense has been a bit of a mess under Harbaugh. With DPJ, you draft the athlete and hope you can coach up the rest. He adds punt return value. It's hard to project where the WRs will fall in the draft, but he's got a chance to develop into something really interesting in a year or two.

Albert Okwuegbunam: The film review on him wasn't pretty, but in a lousy TE class, he has a high ceiling (probably the highest). He's Gil Brandt's favorite TE in the class, and Brandt (interestingly) compared him to Chris Jones (KC DT) as a guy to bet on to hit big in the NFL. 6'5, 258# with 4.49 40 speed can't be ignored. While he didn't play that fast or to his size, there were *some* flashes. Maybe the right program/coach is able to get AO to play up to his potential. I like Trautman and Harrison Bryant better in the late 3rd, but AO is interesting. Brandt's endorsement carries weight with me. (Trautman wasn't in Brandt's top 5 TEs, which surprised me).

Alton Robinson: He has some real red flags after getting kicked out of Texas A&M for a robbery charge in a domestic altercation. As far as I know, he didn't have issues at Syracuse. At 264#, he jumped 35.5" with a 9'11" broad jump and ran in the high 4.6s. The explosion and twitch show up on game day as well. I like his ceiling if he can put everything together. I see him going in the 3rd round and would be very good value with the 4th rounder (assuming the red flags check out okay).

Tanner Muse: Combine superstar at 6'2, 227#, 4.41 40, and solid jumping numbers (34.5"/10'4"). Jumbo college safety who will transition to a potential run & hit LB. He's the sort of S/LB hybrid that NE drafts for special teams value on Day 3 but maybe he's more than that at LB? He seems like the kind of kid you'd bet on, and the track speed is kind of freaky. He's probably less boom or bust, since his ST value gives him a decent floor. But I see some boom in there, too. I'd feel good about him in the 6th, but the combine numbers could push him higher?

Javelin Guidry: Besides having a kickass name, Guidry has the traits that drew the Patriots to Keion Crossen and Jon Jones. 5'9, 191# is going to be too small for a lot of teams but the Patriots don't care about that. He runs in the high 4.2s, he's strong (21 reps), he's tough, and he'll tackle. Likely a Day 1 starter as a gunner and covering kicks with the potential to develop as a DB in year 2 or 3.

I do like JJ Taylor as a potential passing back candidate. He's a bit shorter than Kevin Faulk, but I always got that sort of vibe from him.

I'm watching Anthony "YOLO" Gordon highlights on twitter. He would drive Bellichick insane, but considering you could get in the 5th probably, I would probably rather have him than Love in the 1st.

You could probably get him in the seventh.
I think there is a chance he isn't even there at 172 honestly. CBS has him going 149, Reuter for NFL.com has him going 155, SI hsa him making it to the very top of the 6th (181), Matt Miller has him at 155, Easterling for usatoday is lowest on himI've seen as a 6th at 190.

Dalton Keene: He tested really well, as I expected. Athletic enough to get 11 carries on the season, which you just don't see out of a TE (although I remember when BB gave Sweet Leaf some carries, and that was always fun and productive). The type of versatile player that BB could make good use of.
Keene is my guy. Not that I think he's the best TE in the class, but he's got a pretty interesting skill set and is fun to watch. Those carries you mention mostly came in the North Carolina game, where Virginia Tech's RBs were banged up. Keene was a high school running back, so he played back there at times to give the starter a breather - at 6'4", 253 pounds. It wasn't a gimmick; he got normal carries and even had to pick up blitz protection out of the backfield on 3rd down. Pretty cool stuff. It got even crazier because Virginia Tech's QB got hurt, so they put in their backup. Keene spent a lot of the game lined up at halfback but wound up lead blocking for their backup quarterback, who finished the game with 21 carries and only six pass attempts. Bonkers stuff, but it shows Keene's mentality, toughness, and unusual talents. He was really underutilized and I like his potential. He did a lot of the stuff Thaddeus Moss did, but Keene is a lot more athletic.

Speaking of next year, let me know when you get to Trey Lance because...holy crap. He may give Justin Fields a run for his money next year as QB2. As a redshirt sophomore. From an FCS school.
