FOX had Rams/Packers and Bucs/Saints last year.

It is weird they have only had 1 WC game each of the past two years.
My bad - I thought LAR-GB was on NBC for some reason. It's also weird that they only get one game each of the first two rounds this year.

But owner and general manager Jerry Jones said the game was lost well before the final play.
"The team shouldn't have been in position for that last play to be something controversial," Jones said. "so I'm not going to make it something bigger than it is."

Ben’s a surefire Hall of Famer and only won 3 playoff games in his last 11 seasons. Shows how hard it is to win.
Ben had really shitty luck sharing the AFC with Brady/Manning for the entirety of his prime and then getting Mahomes as his skills started to wane. Then again, there aren't many periods in NFL history in which Ben Roethlisberger would have been the best QB in a conference, so it likely evens out.

I didn’t see the end of 49ers-Cowboys and I just saw a highlight of what went down. What the hell are the Cowboys complaining about? The ref got that ball spotted about as fast as Ive ever seen. That dude was hauling ass to get it spotted. The bump with Dak barely made a difference. What a bunch of clowns that team is.

McCarthy thought there was going to be a review of whether time truly expired or whether there should be a second added, based on what he heard from one of the sideline officials. I don't think a review would have changed anything, and the issue there seems to be crossed communications among the officiating crew. But that's really the only possible semi-valid complaint I can find.

Dak and the rest need to shut up and deal with the fact they lost.

It did sort of look like they had reviewed but it was pretty clearly well past 0 when Dak snapped it.

A good way to not leave the fate of one’s season to a review is to not run the ball with no TOs like that. I agree though, a review would have confirmed there was no time left.

Which would have the effect of giving the Cowboys an extra time out. What a preposterous suggestion.

To be complete, it seemed as if McCarthy's main issue is that the officials never got back to him on whether there would be a review, or, if there was, what the conclusion was. They just ran off the field instead.

I am in the camp there was nothing to review; time had expired. But I have the benefit of watching it on TV. If McCarthy was told there was going to be a review, and then the officials never got back to him, he would have a (minor) gripe with regards to the process. And even he said the officials were not to blame for the team's loss. So, as much as McCarthy is hated here, and as badly as McCarthy/Dak blew that last play, McCarthy isn't the one to blame for the idiotic reactions of certain Cowboys players, including Dak.

There was nothing to review. One look and it was obvious. Why would NY hold it up?

No idea what McCarthy was told and not blaming him for the idiotic fan reactions but he still seemed to be passing the buck. Stating "the mechanics were intact from our end of it." Were they? Your team put the ball down on their own, in the wrong spot and lined up blocking the officials way. That doesn't seem like proper mechanics of the play. The official gave you a break on the spot saving time but still not enough time to spike it and run another play. Your team screwed up. You are in charge, show some leadership and take some responsibility.

Dak said multiple times that they practice that play over and over. Then you were obviously practicing it wrong. Practice makes permanent. He also blames the officials. No responsibility, no leadership.

Zero attention to detail. Zero awareness. Zero self reflection.

Looks like JJ Watt was officially activated and will play. Can’t imagine he has much or will be that impactful but we’ll see.

The Bucs are so banged up on offense I think whichever team wins this game has a good shot of advancing to the NFCCG.
Rams especially would be tough. Ramsey can lock down Evans and their pass rush will get on Brady. Focus on Gronk over the middle and I’m not sure the Bucs would have a lot of success with the other options.

On the flip side, whoever wins tonight will be at a big disadvantage from travel/rest standpoint.

Yeah depends on the matchup. Evans still had a huge game yesterday despite the injuries, but if a team can scheme him away then I think it could be a struggle. I think the Rams have a better chance of doing that.

If Wirfs and Jenssen can't play they're basically screwed. They'd have to go to an offense completely based around the quick passing game, which is taylor made to beat the Eagles but really limiting against basically any other team. Maybe Fournette comes back and helps the running game and they go heavy and try to take more play action shots (which they haven't really done all year), but at some point I think you're just too undermanned.

Didn't Jensen come back into the game?

He’ll injure himself in the most performative, Charlie Hustle way imaginable in the 2nd quarter.

Just want a good game. In the first 5 games there were just a few moments of entertaining tension in Cincy/LV and Dallas/SF, but they were defined more by mistakes, flags, reviews and questionable strategy than great plays. Gimme some great plays tonight.
