Adam Jones get off of Instagram man.

Manning losing to this skeleton steeler squad is going to pass the Rahim Moore game for number 1 on the top ten one and done list if Brown is out. Thought the ceiling was #2 before but this will be the topper
It would but I think they have a 10% chance at best

DEN isn't going to lose to this PIT team thanks to their D, running game and the fact the Steelers will be down their top WR, top 2 RB and Ben will be severely limited. Of course the narrative will be Peyton's return to greatness after the throws for 150yds 1TD and completes 55% of his passes.
Worked for Kobe against the Celts...

btw, current forecast in Minn tomorrow at kickoff is -2, maybe 0.

Reminds me of that playoff game that Tom Coughlin looked like he was going to get hypothermia.

Seriously. You don't even need to watch the game, this is the exact narrative that will play out. It's like a slamdunk.

Why does America love that asshole? I'll never understand it.

Another lesson tonight in how crucial time outs are in the playoffs when the game gets chaotic and tight between two evenly matched teams. How different is that game if the Steelers only have two instead of three time outs when Burfict picks off the ball? Sometimes you see a guy facing third and 14 early in the third quarter relexively call time out to avoid a delay of game only to throw an incompletion anyway. That's where playoff games are won and lost. A time out in a low leverage situation or a silly, hopeless challenge on an unimportant play is the kind of thing that rarely gets mentioned later but can be the difference.

Still can't even describe that game.
Bizarre, ridiculous and unhinged... And that was just Nantz and Simms.

Perverse, considering two players could have left the game paralyzed, and one of those two could have been killed.

So what's the League going to do, considering it warned both teams in advance via a memo sent to all playoff teams that was really directed to the Steelers and Bengals. Then reportedly, Tomlin and Lewis were spoken to in advance of the game.

I think the game tilted to the really dark side with the Shazier hit, which was not even flagged. And no, I'm not buying Carey's explanation that the receiver was not defenseless because he took two steps.

But honestly, apart from that non-flag on that play and the flag on Jones, I thought the game was decently officiated. They wanted to let them play, and until the end there wasn't anything that merited an ejection.

This lies with Tomlin and Lewis, IMO -- and Tomlin really needs to rein in his coaching staff.

Say whut? Is McCarron a semi-Tebow and blaming the Old Testament God for this?

@colin_dunlap
I cannot make this up. AJ McCarron quite literally said it rained when they had ball and not so much when Steelers did.
Dear Lord.

Everyone killing Cincinnati and ignoring two Pittsburgh coaches acting out of line and an uncalled roughing penalty
They had the ball at the Steelers 26 and the lead with less than two minutes. The game was over. Even after the fumble, they had to stop a seriously damaged Rowthlisberger.

Of course they're getting killed.

Nightmare for the League. The first one was as bad a playoff game as you'll ever see. The second was a car crash in which some pretty compelling football was completely wiped out by two teams that thumbed their noses at the League, with the survivor maybe being totally screwed next week, which could produce another awful game.

where I was last at
Coaches don't usually get "flagged" they get fined. And my perception of the Jones flag was for making contact with the ref.
Earlier in the game a Steeler coach got an flag/15 yards for unsportsman like conduct.

Porter was on the field talking trash. There was no reason for him to be on the field, taunting. IMO he should have been flagged.

How do you have any idea what he said? Source?

Coaching. The better question is what, other than being on the field during a timeout, which is allowed, did he do that has this board enraged?
The presence of an outside linebackers coach on the field during an injury time out for a wide reciever is a little odd. Thats not meant to minimize the idiocy of Jones at all. But to suggest that porter is out their coaching up the offense is a little ridiculous.

Both Burfict and Pacman in the postgame said Joey Porter was talking shit. Considering Porter's reputation, that isn't hard to believe.
"Talking shit" - Just what exactly did he say? "Talking shit" means nothing. He could have said "Those guys are F'n headhunters". Would that be an example of their perception of "Talking shit"? So let's get all fired up and bump a ref. That will help our cause (LOL)

Plus Munchak, earlier in the game. And the defense for that is what? And he is a coach, who should be held to a higher standard.

Bottom line is that both teams flipped Roger Goodell the bird.

But, Rooneys, so I expect this to go nowhere.

Bingo. Maybe porter said something profane, but we're supposed to take pac man jones' word for it?

The video I saw showed nothing from porter.

Totally expecting a dumb fuck personal foul to put them in fg range.
Steelers will move down the field on multiple personal fouls to get in FG range.
Likelihood of Burfect getting a PF?
Cincy is really going to lose this. Holy cow. Marvin Lewis is outstanding.
Maybe the ending wasn't as shocking to everyone as it was to me. You guys are prescient, nice job. (Though those quotes were from the drive before the one where the Bengals personal-fouled the game away.)

Refereeing and injuries, with an occasional great skill play.
And that sums up the NFL as of now. Get ready for Peyton the comeback kid hero winning the AFC, everything is heading that way. And if they get to the Super Bowl, the whistles will be going all their way as long as it is a relatively close game.

The NFL is really the worst, but the whole country is addicted to it. The crystal meth of sports.

What is Porter doing on the field in that situation? Given his history and the fact that he coaches the other side of the ball, I'd guess he's simply there stirring up trouble.

No shit. He grabbed a bengal dudes dreads and pulled. He shouldn't be allowed on the flight to Denver. This is the same team who's coach likes to go on the field and trip opposing ball carriers.

Perhaps, but a coach on the field during a timeout is not a penalty.

If the best you can do is question why he was on the field, I don't see how you can call for a penalty on him or defend pac man, another known idiot

For me, the most clear-cut controversial moment was the non-call on Shazier for the hit on Bernard. Leading with the crown should have brought a flag, especially in game called this closely.

There's nothing controversial about the burfict and Jones penalties. They deserved them, easily

Jones's mistake was a) making contact with the ref and b) flaring up again after the teams had been separated

I could have sworn that as Brown was being walked off the field with Porter helping him along that Burfict attempted to pat Brown on the shoulder. Porter then swiped at his hand.

If Porter was still on the field close to a minute later, it doesn't excuse what Jones did but it also shows that Porter chose to hang around when it was no longer needed.

You have the initial scenario correct except it wasn't Porter that swiped at his hand. It was an older white guy, I'm not familiar enough with the steelers staff to cite a name. But what you're thinking of wasnt porter.

You're right, was just able to find a video of the sequence on YouTube. OWG swipes Burfict's hand away and then Porter is following right behind and says something to Burfict as head referee John Parry stands in between them.

All the Bengals needed to do was be smart and cool. How can you blame anyone other than 2 players who could have controlled their emotions.

As for the Broncos, who cares? If the Pats had managed the #1 seed they'd be the charmed ones. The winner of Broncos/Steelers is going to meet a fucking good football team.

All the Pats need to do is win.

It's a little surprising to me that there's a line up unless Vegas already knows more about Ben's status than has come out. They've got close to a 50% chance with him and <10% without him so a split the difference line doesn't seem too out of whack to me.
