I didn't think this belonged in the "Credible Rumors" thread so I thought I would start this one.

Just trying to connect the dots a bit on what a three-way block buster might look like.........Fire Away!

Cubs.........Rumored to be looking to move Castro.  Closer would help 2015 campaign
Trade: Castro
Receive: Uehara

Padres........Rumored to be looking to move several pitchers.  Needs at SS and CF.  Gyorko may be attached price
Trade: Shields, Kimbrell, Ross, Gyorko
Receive: Castro, Sandoval, Buchholz, Owens, JBJ

Red Sox.........Looking ahead to 2016 and beyond
Trade: Uehara, Sandoval, Buchholz, Owens, JBJ
Receive: Shields, Kimbrell, Ross, Gyorko

Hahaha we will get Ross, Shields and Kimbrell and not include any of our big time prospects besides Owens? And on top of that dump Sandovals salary? Hahahahaha

I don't make that deal unless the Cubs throw in Kris Bryant

What if we throw in Swihart and they toss back Schwarber?

The #Cubs would love to pull off a blockbuster and land Ross and Kimbrel from the #Padres

Cafardo also mentioned JBJ could be involved.

So what do we get?

EDIT: Come to think of it, it's probably not so much about what we get as what we get rid of....

Morosi on MLBN:

Business being held up by 3-way trade.  Mentions Gyrko, Castro, Sandoval as big contracts that could be on the movie.  Not sure which teams would get Kimbrel or Ross.  Says both Sox and Cubs want both.

Well, that would seem to be a sticking point.

EDIT: I'm getting a "Driver Error" in that other thread.

Bob Nightengale says the Sox are on the periphery of this thing, and Cubs are the ones that want Kimbrel/Ross.

It ain't periphery if Sandoval goes.

How about:

Sox get: Ross

Cubs get: Cashner, Kimbrel, Gyorko

SD gets: Castro, Pablo, prospects from both. Maybe JBJ and a pitching prospect from BOS and something like Almora and Vogelbach from the Cubs? New left side of the IF and 3 or 4 near-ready prospects.

If the Cubs want Ross and Kimbrel, I'm not sure why the Sox are getting involved. Maybe the Sox are looking to get Yonder Alonso from SD with the Cubs sending Vogelbach to SD in a deal?

I could see a team like SD interested in JBJ, but I can't see anyone paying much for him.  He is a throw in type at this point due to his problems hitting major league pitching.

GM's trade seems awful,  Sox give up  very little, including one, and maybe 2 bad contracts,  and somehow get Ross and Kimbrell.   I would think there would need to be multiple high end prospects added from the Boston side

JOHN FARRELL: "What are we gonna do about this effing team?"

ALLARD BAIRD: "You know, I've heard nothing but good things about this kid, Starlin Castro. His future's right there in the name! I can get him for you, just let me talk to Ben. Plus it's Theo, who never hangs up when I call."

MIKE HAZEN: "Sounds like a plan. We can always move Bogey to RF. And we can always restock Greenville later."

If Farrell used that bat to smash their cellphones, it would be the best managing move he's made since 2013.

Would Starlin be a downgrade from Pablo at 3rd? I'm assuming he'd be an improvement on D, he's a fair amount cheaper, and he's only 25.

Goodell would most likely suspend them after a long drawn out investigation and useless waste of time and money report.
