Not surprisingly, my wife who is a diehard Sun fan took the coach's side of this situation. I personally think we should aspire for this to not be a big deal, however there is still a power divide between the coaches/GMs and players in the WNBA. If this happens in the NBA (using Shaq as an example), he can easily laugh it off and say "Enjoy your 25% of my salary this year, pal". There is a power imbalance in favor of the players if anything, the NBA coaches know this and mostly let the players get angry/trash talk amongst themselves.

In the WNBA, there is still a power imbalance to the coach's and management side. Whether this is just due to relative youth or popularity of the league, or taking advantage of the women playing the game as the *American* league and nudging salaries down compared to the multiples they can make overseas, that's another discussion. But the players seem to certainly feel they can't go at the coaches the same way the men's league can, and that is why you see Cambage venting after the game rather than keeping it on the court.

Some quotes from Cambage:

“I was very bullied since I was a kid — I’ve been bullied and bullied and bullied, so I learned really young to stand up and defend myself, and I have a lot of confidence,” Cambage said. “I went through my whole teenage years really hating and hurting myself because I didn’t like being bigger. I love who I am now… So when people disrespect me like that, I see fire.”
“There’s something in me that will always want to stand up for others and defend others, because I never had that growing up and I had to learn to defend myself,” Cambage said. “I’m no angel… I get into it on the court, but for a man that’s being paid to coach in a women’s league to be hurling abuse — and I’m not the first one — that just hits different.”
