Pretty sure 90% of the players in Dj’s league wild have scored there

Should be more than 4 with all the subs and Taylor wasting almost a minute on resetting that free kick

Ok, taking into account delivery and the timing, "I think that was harder to miss" is some pretty fucking good commentary by Donovan. That was hilarious.

Well, there are some 0-0 snoozers, and then there are some 0-0 nail-biters that keep you on the edge of your seat, and this was definitely the latter.

And he stopped it early. Don’t think they were scoring if there was 90 extra minutes but a little harsh for Belgium

I'm really bad in front of the net on plays like that. Like, one of the worst parts of my game. I've had shit like that happen to me before. I'd still put my chances on that one at >50%.

The only goal Morocco has allowed this tournament is an O.G.

Now to be fair, it was on a wicked cross that created a wicked deflection, so it was pretty earned. But that's the kind of defense that lets you survive and advance, just like ours.

Tunisia gave up only one goal in the group stage, but it was to Australia, who would have finished behind them were it not for that goal. So they're going out.

I'd prefer Canada to move on
Doesn't really matter right? Belgium need to beat Croatia, since anything less than a 3-goal defeat to Morocco still has them advance if Belgium draw. Is that right?
As much as we all appreciate it, even before this match, it was more of a dead rubber than your average NASCAR track. Turns out Panama, Jamaica, and Costa Rica is a different animal than two of the best countries in the world and a feisty African side.

Best suited to group stages where draws can help take points off others.

Its also a path to a bunch of shoutouts.

I have a lot to say about Belgium. Martinez finally made changes to his XI but his shape and deployment of resources was all wrong. In a must win match they spent most of it passing the dreaded back line umbrella. No cohesion in attack, no press, almost nothing happening that defines modern football. Really just hoping KDB does something special and hope for the best. They deserved what they got and it’s criminal Doku wasn’t on earlier

Of course as a City fan Haaland and KDB are now both resting until the restart so I’ve got that going for me

Looking ahead to this afternoon, kinda sucks for the country of Japan. They've been to the R16 3 times in their history, they have an excellent chance to see their team get there again, and the game is scheduled for 4am Tokyo Time.

Obviously opinions will differ, but on a Friday morning I'd certainly prefer 4-6am over 12-2am.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this Belgian team.
Did somebody give them Robitussin Nighttime IVs before the game?
Cursed by too much talent playing too many league minutes?

I find myself irrationally annoyed by their underperforming. And gods, I really liked that red kit! ;)
