“@BrianCostaWSJ: 9:30am fire alarm woke up some Giants at team hotel today. Similar thing happened during 2012 World Series in Detroit. Amazing coincidence.”

“@BillShaikin: Fox: In Kansas City, 68% of TV sets in use last night were tuned to #Royals. In SF? 50%.”

Numbers will be higher tonight I bet

It's harder for the folks in KC to watch something else because they have to get up and change the channel with a pair of pliers.
This absolutely deserves some applause. I laughed.  :bravo:

I'm conflicted. I want the Royals to win this series. I also want to root for Jake Peavy to do well. I guess I'm hoping for a 9th inning walk off win for the Royals to break a 0-0 tie with Jake going 8 strong.

Kapler just said or at least implied that when the Sox were down 3-0 in 2004, before game 4 Papi was taking fielding practice at 1B to prepare to play in the national league park in the WS.

Really stirring visit by Giants media rep Amy Guttierez to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum and its president Bob Kendrick. That would be my priority in a KC visit.

Kapler dropping ISO in the middle of a soundbite.

That was fantastic.  For those that didn't see it, each panelist was asked to pick a player that would do well tonight -- Kapler picked Butler because he has a great ISO against the four-seam fastball.  He then got gently mocked by the panel, but mostly by Frank Thomas who had just picked Alex Gordon, since he's 0 for his last 11 (actually 0-14).

Love it. He's got a shitload of charisma. I hope he ends up doing more broadcasting work.

I would love to see NESN give him a shot next time Remy takes another extended sabbatical.

So, HR mentions Peavy is a good candidate to be run on.

Then it's revealed that runners are only 1 of 4 against him in postseason.

He's out.

So, HR says Peavy is good to run on, runners now 1 of 5 in postseason running on him.

So, do announcers know anything else about Cain except that he's a latecomer to baseball?

EDIT: I love that Buck said "these guys can all run" and he's talking about a team with Billy Butler on it.
