California. Duh.
Gurriel faces a suspension next season, but is allowed to play the rest of the series.

Wood vs. Morton. Astros still unbeaten at home. My hunch is the winner of this game wins the series.

Dodgers keep the same lineup for game four. Cody Bellinger remains in the cleanup spot despite an 0-11 start to the WS, with 7 strikeouts. 4 of them in game three. He has had one flyball, the rest groundouts (he did reach base on an error for his only appearance on-base so far this series.)

His second at-bat last night tells the story. He is worried about the off-speed, he let the first pitch fastball beat him. McCullers gave him little to hit after that and struck him out.

You don't need six umps anymore with replay. The two extra are mostly there for fair foul, trap no trap, and theoretically HR. All those calls when close get called on replay now. It's harmless to have them, though, I guess. Just redundant.

So you can review if a pitch guys your foot, but not a batted ball?
Fair/foul if the ball lands in front of 1B and 3B umps is not reviewable but fair foul in the outfield is reviewable. The rationale is that whether the ball lands on the left or right side of the chalk is objective and can be reviewed helpfully with video. But whether or not the ball goes over the bag or foul is too much of a judgment call and gets distorted by video. Since not all parks have a roof and over base video capacity, they leave it to the ump's discretion.

So, that's the reason. Clearly the rationale for the rule doesn't make much sense in the context in which it came up tonight. I would change the rule to permit review whether the ball touches the batter or a fielder in foul ground. But by the letter of the rule, they couldn't review tonight.

I'd like to think Boston would be different, but probably not.
Oh, I'm not trying to say we are more enlightened. It's the society we live in now.

It's not like I expected him to be booed in his home park, but the people making a point to stand and applaud? Come on...

The nicest face you can put on it is they believe that "he didn't mean anything by it."

That goiter on Morton's face is distracting.

I wonder if Sons of Alan Ashby has a CharlieMorton'sBoil.

I know. Some people are determined to support their team members to the exclusion of all common sense.
