The cradle of the game.
The National League Champion Los Angeles Dodgers will host the American League Champion Houston Astros for a baseball game to be played at Dodger Stadium.

The winner of this game will subsequently be known as the Major League Baseball World Champions for the 2017 season.

Discuss.

This will be the 11th November World Series game, and probably the last one with the implementation of earlier season starts and talk of a shortened season (barring rain outs, terrorist attacks, natural disasters, etc.). For those who enjoy an endless summer, it's sad to see the season end.
The home team and the road team have each won five November World Series games in the past. The Dodgers will break the tie tonight behind Darvish. Also, the NL team has won 6 of these past contests thanks in large measure to the Diamondbacks and Cubs.

For a series with two teams I don't really care about and still haven't developed a rooting interest for, this has been a surprisingly awesome and engaging series. It deserves a game 7, and I'm glad it'll get one.

Seconded. When the Sox are not in it, it helps to have watchable games, and this whole series has been enjoyable to watch.

I'd say from a neutral fan perspective, 2015-2017 has been the most entertaining 3-year World Series stretch I can remember

Hey, when you slashed .455/.576/.795/1.372 in actual played World Series games, you get a pass if you have no skill in prognosticating other peoples performances in the World Series....

Watching the reply of last night's game this morning, and it looks like Ortiz is picking LA for game 7, which is good because I'm rooting for Houston.

Was 2015 that entertaining? I guess if one enjoys watching the Mets throwing up all over themselves.

Kinda nice after the gong show that was the World Series of the 2000s to have from 2011 on: 7 games, 4 games (I am OK with this), 6 games, 7 games, 5 games, 7 games, 7 games.

Not that either team needs added incentive tonight, but Jansen's "the Astros don't have a chance" talk was duly noted in the Houston clubhouse

I know you said 3 years, but then we can go back to 2013 for selfish reasons, and then 2014 with the Royals and Giants was just a great series. Excellent 5 year run.

The cradle of the game.
My eyes will be focused on Darvish. He gave up no more than 1 run in each of his 5 starts before G3, but 5 in each of his 2 starts just prior to that streak. Was G3 just a hiccup or a trend? In any event, his leash will obviously be short tonight.

2001-2003 was pretty good too.

Mostly better played ball.

Especially 2016, which was one of the sloppier series we've seen.

And guys didn't jog around the infield with 2 outs in game 7.

Instead of starting the season in February or reverting to 154 games - here's an idea - each team has to schedule at home five days with two games. They could be called double headers - or something like that. It could even be required that the games be played back to back and one admission would get both games. AND, if the first game starts, say, around 3 pm - it could be called a twinight double header. Or something like that. The regular season would end with a week left in September.

I would be so down with Darvish striking out Gurriel every time he faces him.
I kinda want him to launch a HR, run the bases, and then upon reaching home, bow towards the pitchers mound like 15-16 times...

But I’m also kind of an asshole.

Not quite as specific, but i'd love to see how everyone reacts if Gurriel were to hit one into another zip code.

Game 7. The Red Sox four WS before they ended their drought were all seven game series. When they decided to win three World Series, none had to go seven.
