I still use Yahoo Mail, mostly because I've used for about 20 years and didn't feel like changing my email address.

I have a number of folders where I have been storing legal documents and other important files.

I tried to access one of them from my iPhone this morning, and the email would not load. This problem persisted. I could see the email, but could not see the contents. I tried using the web interface from my phone, and the mail wasn't there at all.

Online help suggested that I delete and reinstall my account on my phone. I did that, and now a good portion of my recent email in those folders is gone. One folder only has mail up to June of this year, another up to September 29. It seems totally random.

I did a restore request through Yahoo support. Is there anything else I can do?

I may be able to help, since I work for a company under the same corporate umbrella. Can you message me with:
  • Your name
  • The Yahoo ID (i.e. exampleID@yahoo.com)
  • Their best contact phone number and an alternate email address
  • A brief summary of the issue
I will forward the issue to an internal team that can help with stuff like this.
