Ryland - hopefully the GW Fg gets his mojo back. That thing was crushed dead center.I have a new snd deeper understanding as to why so many long term relationships break up over one night stands.
Balls.
Ryland
The first half was boring as hell. Great finish, of course, but series after series of three and outs had me falling asleep.Ryland - hopefully the GW Fg gets his mojo back. That thing was crushed dead center.
Entire D - particularly Barmore
Zappe - he is gaining confidence. I feel the O goes quiet when play calling changes, like 2nd half steelers and those couple drives tonite.
entertaining as hell game
In fairness to players on both teams, it was cold AF last night. I have been to several games in Denver and I remember years back, it may have been in 2017, I went to a game that IIRC was about 20 degrees and despite dressing in layers my toes were frozen by the third quarter. That stadium gets cold in December. I kind of forgive all guys on both teams for taking a bit to get into the swing of things, late-night December “cold” in Denver is one hell of a thing to experience. The first half was boring as hell. Clearly he’s lost the locker room and they hate their coach.BB postgame speech in the locker room

Just like Adam did vs Carolina in 2003-4. A missed FG and a blocked FG, then he delivered the game winner.Very 8-D chess of Ryland to miss the XP so then he could get all the glory on the 56yd game winner
That was my thought in real time too, but on reflection, it was second and four. That is just too short a distance to call time out.Payton was cute with the timeouts but his defense had stuffed the Pats in the fourth quarter. He believed in his defense and they let him down.
Just the way he responded when Bill praised him tells you as much – nodding quietly, looking down.I'm really happy for Ryland. He's had a difficult season (obviously) and a rough game and then he absolutely drilled that game-winner from 56.
I keep wanting them to lose in the abstract but can’t actively root for them to fail. And yes, two Buffalo wins would be amazingScrew it. I want them to beat Buffalo next week and screw their season, draft position be damned.
This is me. I want a better draft pick so that means I want them to lose. But when I’ve got them on the TV I can’t help but root for them to win.I keep wanting them to lose in the abstract but can’t actively root for them to fail. And yes, two Buffalo wins would be amazing
This. I know losing is probably better long-term, but these guys practice each week, work really hard, and in general I don’t think lack of effort has been the issue with this team this year. I can’t root for the guys wearing Patriots jerseys to lose.I keep wanting them to lose in the abstract but can’t actively root for them to fail. And yes, two Buffalo wins would be amazing
plus the 1,2,5 in 2022 and the 1, 2 picks in 2023 and the 3 players for Russ. LolBroncos burned a 1st and a 2nd for Sean Peyton.
Sean Peyton has a losing record after torching Nate Hackett for his lack of coaching ability.
The Patriots don’t always throw to tight end Pharoah Brown. But when they do, it works. Quarterbacks are 11-for-11 when throwing his way this season.
Was just saying this to my partner when watching this morning. Head wants them to lose, but the visceral reaction is always pro-Pats.This. Why aren't they throwing to him 30 times a game?An honorable mention for Phroah Brown. Quite the stat from O'Malley at Masslive if true:
Don't get me wrong, Pharaoh is one of my binkies, but I would guess that BB and BoB think he's more useful with eleven catches on eleven targets than seventeen catches on thirty targets. And BoB is most certainly coaching for his next, better gig.Why aren't they throwing to him 30 times a game?
BB really does suck at his job.
Sure. But if he catches every ball thrown to him, might as well use that cheat code.Don't get me wrong, Pharaoh is one of my binkies, but I would guess that BB and BoB think he's more useful with eleven catches on eleven targets than seventeen catches on thirty targets. I think Payton is a good example of how hard it will be for the Pats to find a good coach to replace BB. Payton might be overrated but he’s generally considered a good coach (same was said for Andy Reid pre-Mahomes). There simply aren’t a lot of good coaches out there and the large majority of coordinator to HC converts fail or take 2-3 HC positions before they get better (maybe happening with Bowles now? Carroll is another obvious example)Broncos burned a 1st and a 2nd for Sean Peyton.

BB the GM is killing BB the coach, Mike!I think Payton is a good example of how hard it will be for the Pats to find a good coach to replace BB. a lot of these young coaches who are succeeding are doing so because they have loaded offenses (Philadelphia, Miami, Zac Taylor). What Pierce has done with the Raiders, Stefanski with Cleveland or Steichen with Indy is more impressive to me than McDaniel or Sirianni simply because good coordinators who step into a roster which matches their specialty haven’t proven much in terms of being a “head” coach. And I don’t think Miami or Philly consistently has good game plans on both sides of the ball, good clock management etc.
Not suggesting Sirianni or McDaniel are bad coaches but I’d put them a lot more towards unknown than proven good head coaches.
