My first look at Simon Gagne this year. He doesn't look out of place and seems to have developed some chemistry with Paille.

Gagne hasn't looked terrible tonight.

Edit: Ugh that's what I get for not refreshing the page.

He turned immediately before the hit.  His bad position on the hit was as much if not more his fault.

Oh I agree but it seems like 9 times out of 10 they penalize based on the optics of the hit and the player being shaken up.

They are just snake bit. Given the number of quality shots they've had, this could have been a blowout.

I am no longer all that worried.

Shot attempts were 48-28 for the B's. Their best effort to this point of the season, they deserve the 2nd point. Go get it.

Why does it seem like the team is cobstantly snake bitten? It's a constant excuse for them

Also FYI TSC I said see what's out there for Lucic but I never said trade him for pennies on the dollar. Infact I clearly said the problem right now is I think the return would be too small.

Yep, lot of people trotted out this excuse when they were third in the league in goals last year.

If they play like this all year, they'll make the playoffs. And in the end, that's all really matters, unfortunately.

That odd man rush is an example of when guys playing on their off wing comes back to bite you. Tougher play for Smith. Needs to open up to make the pass and then you're screwed.

it was used the entire Montreal series and years prior to last years regular season.

There's no arguing this team could score in the regular season last year, that's fair

The team has played well tonight but they can't finish and it's very frustrating.

There have been a lot of complaints about the dry scrape before OT so far, but I thought it wasn't disruptive at all and the OT was great.

Eh, Smith telegraphed the pass then forced it. The right play there was to shoot or got to the high, middle guy. I like having a guy there on his off wing because the can shoot, drop on a backhand up top, or have an easier sauce to the far low guy. Problem is he didn't threaten either of the first two options at all, so everyone knew he was trying that pass.

It is frustrating but, much like BABIP, it tends to fix itself.

Now, in a short series, your point is plainly valid.

Chicago outshot Calgary 50-18 tonight and lost. No one is going to question their finishing. Games like this happen. And they'll win their fair share of games they get outshot

That might have been Tuukka's easiest shootout saves ever.

And Howard got owned. Well deserved 2 points.
