Awesome decision, lucky you got to see his first kid might be specialReading about Poitras in the preseason thread convinced me to get tix when they came to Anaheim and I purposely went to the end they’d shoot at twice, which worked out nicely.
I was at the Ducks game last year and we had a good 40% of the crowd on the B’s side. It was also an early blowout which made the fans more boisterous. That seemed like a very Boston heavy crowd in there last night. Fun to see. It does make me wonder how regularly the Bruins play road games with the crowd on their side? Is it half the barns in the league? More?
I am firmly in the camp that thinks the Bruins are going to be a good, fun team to watch all season, and although I'd love to see this team anchored by a peak Bergeron, I think they are basically fine and I am not at all worried about a massive drop-off from last year. Let's worry about the playoffs in April. So I have to admit to being pretty surprised by the start the Bruins have had. I didn’t think they’d plummet to the bottom of the NHL this year because their core is still good but I also did expect them to be nowhere near as good as last year. Obviously just five games but man they look really good so far.
As much as we’d all love it - Bergy doesn’t seem like the kind of guy who would do that. With Bergy keeping fit and showing up, if needed, for the playoffs?
Fell asleep as well. Poitras, OTOH, admitted to being a little gassed going into the 3rd last night. Oh, to be 19 again.Sooooo, I fell asleep after period two. He’s got to be staying after this, yeah? Wow.
I agree, that wouldn’t be something he would plan to do, but if asked, assuming injuries? As much as we’d all love it - Bergy doesn’t seem like the kind of guy who would do that.
Totally agree, esp the part about the quality of the teams to start the season. Kind of "Tampa Bay Ray's"-esq 2023 schedule to start the season.I am firmly in the camp that thinks the Bruins are going to be a good, fun team to watch all season, and although I'd love to see this team anchored by a peak Bergeron, I think they are basically fine and I am not at all worried about a massive drop-off from last year. Having said that, the opening five games probably tell us more about the quality of the competition than they accurately project out for the likely regular season record (82-0!). These have been some pretty 'meh' teams, and I'd not be shocked if only one of the five makes the playoffs (Kings).
The Chicago game is on ESPN. I missed it too.I swear I looked at the schedule when they said next game Thursday on NESN because that seemed so long again. Not sure how I missed Chicago.
I had season tickets to the LA Kings in the pre-Gretzky era. Original six teams brought out the sellout crowds cheering for the visitors. That seemed like a very Boston heavy crowd in there last night. Fun to see. It does make me wonder how regularly the Bruins play road games with the crowd on their side? Is it half the barns in the league? More?
