I liked the way they played overall. Bottom 6 was physical. They had plenty of chances. Tied the game late. McAvoy looked very rusty and cost them 2 goals he normally wouldn’t give up and Fleury played out if his mind.
yep, it was fine. frustrating but fine
DeBrusk has been fine too. He's engaged and playing good defense and getting to pucks, just needs a bounce or 2. Or a live chicken.

I really wish they could add a solid piece to their top 6 to give the whole line up better depth but I don’t see how they can do it given their cap situation.
They not only have no cap space, they have no first rounder pick, and they’re best prospects aren’t exactly coveted around the league. This is the team they got. We knew it was going to be a grind this season.

That was a guy that hasn’t scored in awhile squeezing the stick. Hopefully the coaching staff can calm him down a little bit. For the most part he’s been doing everything else right, just not finishing.

Edit: calm not call

Very true. Hopefully they can use their cap space wisely this off-season.
Yeah, they have $59,266 in space right now. However, next year it's showing right now they will have a hair under $26 million. I don't think that includes the projected $4.5 million increase in cap. They need to resign Sway, only 3 D under contract(not including Lohrei), and DeBrusk, Heinen and JVR are all UFA. So they should have plenty to play with
