He literally did nothing wrong there
Going back a bit in the thread, but this intrigues me. And anybody feel free to disabuse me of this theory, but: usually the Captain has a certain leeway to argue calls (see Bergeron). But the refs are unconsciously or even consciously pissed that the B's made Marchy captain (after the golden boy) and, rather than giving him some leeway, it's just the opposite. The "lick" theory still holds. It's just worse now that the B's, in an act of "in your face," made Marchy Cap.

edit: THE GEEK!

He's the anti LeBron. He must have thrown in one too many magic words for the extra 2 but yeah I can't remember the last time I've seen that extra 2 called and I've seen way worse outbursts

We gonna tack on the extra minor for the blood or is that no longer a rule alluva sudden
I always thought the extra 2 for blood was a weird call. It's only on a high stick, and whether you bleed or not has nothing to do with the action. Light contact with the toe can open someone up, but a whack with the heel won't. To me it's one of the dumbest extra penalties in sports

Oh for sure. It's a prime example how this league is more concerned with appearances than with curbing actual harmful/reckless plays.

I agree with you on the extra 2 for blood being an image thing is probably the closest reason for the rule. However, like you pointed out, and elbow to the face that can do just as much damage as a stick had Brad gushing blood and no extra 2. I just don't see how the NHL can't see the hypocrisy in it

Has anyone mentioned that when most teams wear throwbacks they’re cool but these Buffalo ones suck ass and remind me of the shitty NHL era?

The buffaslug throwbacks look so awful compared to the amazing Bruins 80s centennial throwbacks. Also, now that some of the Buffalo fans have left, there are way more Bruins jerseys in the lower bowl than Sabres ones.
