Welcome back Everton! 2-0After a nightmare week, my Toffees, with club legend and Daniel Craig doppelgänger Duncan Ferguson prowling the touch line, improbably up 1-0 over Chelsea off the proverbial thumping header from Richy
I am beyond thrilled and Everton is too. I know something more is required but for now I am over the moon. I was not a Silva hater, he’s a descent man, he did some things well and had done bad luck but he was a limp dishrag in the best of times. Goodie on needed an injection to get the fans back onside and remind the world of what this club can be. No manager worth the job would want to walk into the morgue that Goodson was last week in that loss ton Norwich (that we were going to be at, think god our plans changed) but you’d have to be dead not to be psyched by that. What are we thinking today a VAR decision or a keeper howler?
Chelsea ran into an Everton team who played with ridiculous commitment. Can’t imagine Everton could play like that every week, it’d be a mistake to do the Ole thing I think
The Liverpool midfield has been going full Daryle Lamonica lately. Maybe they’ve been seeing higher defensive lines?Edit: and how about Jordan Pirlo there?
Ferguson’s pure elation at the end was beautiful. Thats got to be an atmosphere changer for the whole organization.I am beyond thrilled and Everton is too. It was as basic as football gets- 4-4-2, no playing out the back-Pickford hitting every ball long, go fight for the second ball, they only had 30% of the ball but they were on the front foot throughout, but what it lacked in finesse it more than made up for in heart.Ferguson’s pure elation at the end was beautiful. This is the Everton I fell in love with when I started watching the PL.
We know that Dunc is not the man for the job long term but wow. He'd do anything for this club, I think he'd sweep out the aisles and water the grass if they asked him to.
Also fan in the front row making the monkey gesture at him. Stay classy. That's not good. City fans throwing stuff onto the field when Fred goes to take the corner. Looks like he got hit by something. Ridiculous.
I don’t see how they can’t win the title at this point.Huge day for Liverpool.
I know.View: https://twitter.com/ghostgoal/status/1203321007416729600
An amazing Dunc boost but this kind of defensive intensity is probably not sustainable in the long run.
