I hate to say it, because I absolutely love the man and everything he did for this team - but losing Chara was a net positive for the defense. This team is as good defensively as last year’s team but more dangerous on offense -- they’re getting more offensive from the D-men.
Yes.I half- forgot about this game... grabbed my phone and saw them down 3-1. Looked back a bit later and saw it was 3-3. Immediately followed the rest here and on GameCast (leading to Carlo and Marchy goals). But-- more credit to cshea.
My question, from a guy who can't skate... is Nick Ritchie turning into the player that Boston traded for?
Low-key, losing Z and Krug is fine for defensive balance as long as the young guys step up. Lose Krug’s pure offense and Chara’s ability to eat minutes, but overall you gain size, add speed, and maybe a neutral on skill. I mean, Z could barely skate by the end of last season to the point that his size was irrelevant. And a 1st rounder in Urho still waiting in the wings. This team is as good defensively as last year’s team but more dangerous on offense -- they’re getting more offensive from the D-men.
Watched the whole game but damned if I was going to post until the game was over.Too bad cshea went to bed!
