As winter turns to spring, there's definitely hope on the North Side.
Last year's 73 wins was an improvement, and the 2015 edition should be an interesting team, with the kids developing and Lester heading the rotation. Probably still at least a year from contending for the Central, but .500 seems within reach.
Rizzo, Castro and Soler have another year under their belts. Lester-Arrieta-Hammel-Hendricks should be pretty good and I like Rondon at the back end. Fowler and Montero were solid acquisitions.
And Kris Bryant will be installed at 3B in just a few weeks.
Finally, as much as people dislike Maddon, he is - in my opinion - a very good manager for a young team.
On the flipside, Dan Shaughnessy picked them to win the division. Doomed.
