The smart pick at 3 was Kuchar. The guy I really wanted to pick was Fowler. The stupid fucking pick was Woods.

I suck.

It's a long season.  Tiger has the kind of talent to do what Rory did last year.  Honestly, if I'm you, I probably hope he doesn't set a stupid timeline up and force himself into Augusta or somewhere else -- just get back to being Tiger.

Yeah, but he can't be happy about having Tiger on his team. Right now, his first round pick might put up 3 points for the season. Yes, he has the talent to do anything anyone has ever done on the golf course. But the current incarnation of Tiger is a guy who douches chips like a 18 handicapper. That's not a confidence builder. My bet is BHHH would trade Tiger for any pick made in the first round. And there is nobody who would take that deal. I wouldn't even trade Horschel for Tiger at present.

He'll almost certainly be back by Augusta if he's healthy. He didn't actually say he's taking a leave of absence, and his agent specifically said he's not. Sounds to me like he's just taking a few weeks off.

Yeah, I posted in the pga thread, but the whole thing is kind of weird. He never plays Pebble or Riviera, but plays the Honda which he said is still his goal. So....nothing is changing! I guess he is laying the groundwork to not play the Honda if his game is still shit, but the story is weird since it's nothing unusual. He usually plays the Honda, WGC and Arnie's tourny before Augusta. I assume he tries to follow that but I actually don't think he'll qualify for the WGC.

I was really worried about Tiger being available at 13 because I would have to think about it. I was glad BMHH took him out of the equation, but sucks for sure.

JB Holmes is playing some great golf right now.

I'd love to claim some sort of special insight, but I just took the highest ranked player left.

This was not my strategy in previous years, which is probably why my teams sucked donkey balls.

I spent the last 3 weeks watching the guys I picked play every tournament, tear it up, and score what would have been tons of points if the season had started.

As expected, the season starts, I only have 3 guys playing, and 2 of them will probably miss the cut.  The more things change, the more they stay the same.  Fucking fantasy golf.

Oh, and if JB Holmes, JJ Henry, Chesson Hadley, Jim Furyk or Alex Prugh go on to have great years, I'm going to be so pissed, because I can specifically remember coming down to those guys and someone else, and choosing the other guy when I was drafting.  I spent more time looking at those five guys than I did anyone else I didn't draft, and all are playing great right now, not to mention Justin Hicks, David Hearn, Matt Jones and Pat Perez, who I think were all on my team last year and I thought about taking again this year.  Instead, the only repeat player I got, Ryan Palmer, goes out and shoots 72 today and is currently tied for 120th.  I'm just never going to figure this shit out.

My man Michael Thompson had a good bogey on 18 at Pebble today.

Hooked his drive into the ocean.
Re-teed and did almost the same thing, but it stayed on the beach.
Hit from the beach up across the fairway into the right rough.
Put it onto the green, 25 feet away.
Made the 25 foot bogey putt.

Man, do I love Pebble Beach.

You're right WBV.  All my shitty season just kind of blend together.  I might have had Perez two years ago too.   Doesn't matter when I take them.  It's when I don't that they'll play well.

All of you Bubba haters should plan to be happy this season.

My two guys that I should have picked but didn't are Stefani and Levin. I look forward to their breakout seasons.

I had Levin last year and he missed 11 cuts out of 20 tournaments.  11 f*cking cuts.

I agree that he is poised for a turnaround, but between Levin and Watney I will commit acts of mayhem if/when they are successful this year.

Um, I'm not even joking when I tell you that a live leaderboard and standings for our league may be the most impressive display of technology I have ever seen...

That is freaking unbelievable. Holy crap Vegas, well done.

Except that it's telling me I only have 1 point. That can't be right!

Um so Vegas...I think I messed up your spread sheet.  My fat fingers hit the wrong button last night and it autosaved.  Not sure if you can fix it, but if so is there a way to make it so you're the only one who can update it?

Frickin' Furyk, can't wait for him to blow it today to Matt Jones can win the tourney. Well, maybe no Jones but you know Furyk won't win. He will miss a bunch of crucial putts. And he was lose.

Man, do I love Pebble Beach.
They never show Spyglass, which is not as spectacular along the ocean but beautiful on the inland holes.

Only one back East snow showing on the CBS telecast so far Saturday and Sunday that I saw. They don't want to rub it in I guess.

He birdied the first 4 holes and is +2 since, including bogeying the easy par 5 #6.

He's coming back. 1 off the lead. But I will submit that it's likely he will blow it.

Nantz: "it's with heavy hearts today", background sad music, "Phil Simms"...."lost his beloved mother today." Christ, he made it seem for a bit that Phil died.

Fucking figures. Snedeker doesn't win a tournament all last year, naturally he's gonna win the first one this year.

Chesson Hadley had 3 birdies in a row got up to second place, before imploding on his second shot at 18, yet they never showed him during the broadcast.  Looks like if Snedeker doesn't blow up, I will have a very successful week 1
